    Based off my experience fishing pool 2 I have started to think a large number of walleye spawn in the Minnesota River. Definetly still a good amount of walleye spawn by the dam and Minehaha creek and probably a couple other locations near the confluence.

    Here is a study from the late 90s, worth a read if you are into this kind of stuff. They located a good amount of walleye and sauger through radio transmitters in the Minnesota river during spawning time too.

    River conditions are definitely different now then during this study but I bet there are still a lot of walleye that go up the Minnesota river.

    let me know your thoughts

    Any chance you can PM that spreadsheet of the last 12 years? Really curious about the patterns on when ice out happens

    March is just around the corner. Hopefully this year will be another year we have a March ice out date at Birchdale.

    So far for the month of February we have had zero days of 30 or above in Baudette. Looks like next week will change that.
    Looking at my spreadsheet covering the last 12 years. We have had 2 years with zero days with day time highs hitting 30 our better for February. 2019 Birchdale access was open on March 28th and 2015 Birchdale access was open on March 23rd.

    Have been seeing what looks like safe ice right off Hubs Landing Marina by the Hastings bridge. Not sure how far out I would wanna go but does anyone think it would be worthwhile for walleye or panfish?

    New to the forum but have been consistently fishing pool 2 for about 3-4 years now with a lot of success. A good friend of mine and I have been fishing pool 2 for walleyes and are in the works of starting a guide service for pool 2. Is there anyone on the forum who either has their own guide business or knows someone who does that would be willing to answer a few questions I have about the process of obtaining the required licenses. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
