Blackfish arrid are the best ones ive found. Striker stealths are a close second. I put electric hand warmers under my gloves in my palm. It takes some getting used to but definitely keeps u out there longer. Be careful w the heat setting on electric warmers. Med/high setting almost feel like they could burn you.

Great post. This reminds me to try a crappie lake that was great 7 years ago and has been dead ever since. Does your diary show patterns in location and depth? Particularly ice fishing during the winter.

Ive owned the 24v and 40v strikemasters and now the ion alpha. The ion is better in every category.

I havent used those brands but i tried the fall run braid. It worked well for 20-30 casts and then iced up the same as any other braid. Thinner diameter/lighter lb does better

Lol. Definitely has some spine issues. Its a tough fish to last this long and get that big.

Last year i caught it in late December so another month plus of eating good it will probably be back over 8lbs. Maybe its just getting old. If i catch it again its going back right away. No pics or scale. Ive put it through enough lol

Fleet farm always has a good stock of moxi’s and pulse r plastics. Everything else is sub par

Easiest way for me is to take a screenshot of the pic. Otherwise the website blocks the original pic

Ive been catching them on 1/8 oz jigs and twister tail plastics. In shallow rocks close to deep water.

Got a nice one sunday night a few hours after dark on a white paddle tail but only caught smalls last time. This warm weather isnt going to help.

I am going to try some geecrack bellows shad baits. Realistically will go back to a moon eye jig and pulse R paddle tail that works 80% of the time
