I am running a 75hp. E-Tech on my Pro Angler 16 and just love it. The hole shot is unbelieveable compared to my old 60hp 4 stroke. It is just as quiet and even more stingy on fuel. It trolls at 1.8 mph on my gps. :
Hello all, well it looks like it will be a late spring here in the western UP. I’ll be looking for a smaller dark water lake with a good inflow. Maybe the spawn will be over in that type of lake andthe males will be active at least. Come on SPRING!
Sounds likr you had a good trip. I was on Sunset last night, had two keeper ‘eyes and several subs, one nice SMB. Got into a bunch of 7″-8″ ‘gills, they were a blast. I wish I had notb forgetten my UL I hear good reports coming from Iron, but the landing is so lousy, that we can’t get boats the size of ours in there!
Did pretty well on Haggerman, 2-17″ & a 19″ SMB plus lots of dinks. No ‘eyes tho. We started out getting them in 18’ & they moved up to 10 & 12′ later in the day. They really only wanted Roach Rigs & crawlers. Leeches struck out. How do you get clients to fish for anything but ‘eyes? Every body I get, draws a blank stare when I mention bass or panfish. Keep in touch, see yuh later.
Hi Tom, The same goes for me too, altho got out in the light rain on Swan and got one 17″ wae and 9 decent perch on Sat. Had a great time up at Ely on Shagawa with the Smallies. Had one 20″ and 30 at 16″ or better. Seems that no one is targeting the Bass. ‘eye fishing was lousy tho. See yuh.
Hi all, I’m glad we’ve got this UP lakes thread ! Ive been dredging a few walleyes out of Iron co. Lks. lately. they have been coming out of downed timber on shorelines in 10-12 feet of water, also on the deep edge of the cabbage. 1/16 oz. jigs tipped with leeches or crawlers are doing the trick. Of course it is best when there is a wind blowing on shore. Go out and get some “timber Rock” jigs and give it a try. Have fun1 waenut Fins & Feathers Guide Service
