I have been wearing yellow tinted shooting glasses, when driving up to the cabin on Friday nights. I find that it makes a huge difference with glare, at least for me. I got sick and tired of all the headlights behind and coming at me, on Highway 10. I see considerably better and my eyes feel much better by the end of the drive.

On the back of the motor, you should find at least one grease fitting, that lubricates where the motor actually pivots on the mount. I would try greasing that, move the motor back and forth, to get grease to the shaft. I believe that should help.

Thanks guys. Ready to go on maiden voyage tomorrow AM, really amazing how much storage I have! Ten rods in the front locker and five in the side locker in the back. No more rods laying all over the boat when people come with, not using it, in the locker it goes.

Still have to figure out the best place to put everything, but that will come with time. Will post pictures tomorrow. You can really tell allot of input from the pro staff has gone into the design.

Make sure you check with the power company on the required meter box. I put power into our property about 10 years ago. Built a stand with 4 x 4 green treated buried in the ground and green treated plywood. I did all the work, electrical inspector approved all. When Crow Wing power came to hook it up, they told me I had to have a non-interrupted meter socket. Meaning they can pull down a lever to keep power going to the house, while changing meters. I had to hire this done, because I was already home and no plans for going up to correct it soon. Not that hard to do, just make sure you know all the codes/requirements.

What HP motor did you have on that? Were you satisfied? I am looking into getting a 20′ tiller, to fit all the grandkids, but wondering why most people have 200 HP Verado on 2075 Pro Guides, and others tillers,
wouldn’t a 150 work fine?

X2 I spray this on my boat whenever I come off the rivers and have a scum line. Spray from end to end, than take a towel and wipe right off. Allot easier than letting it dry. I have tried going straight to the car wash, it will not come off with the pressure. I believe I use the Works Bathroom cleaner, definitely does the job.

I thought you just bought the new Skeeter 20′ tiller last year? I would think you should still be in the “I Love This Boat” stage? Being a tiller guy, I would be in heaven with that boat.

When we were young, I never even heard of sunscreen, they had sun tan lotion to help you tan quicker. I would spend every day of the summer outside and by mid summer my brown hair would be blonde and my skin dark as heck. We did not know any better back then.
I started using sunscreen many years ago, but do not use it as I should. If fishing in the morning and plan on being off the water by 10:30, I usually do not.

Thank you all for your suggestions, good ideas, and support. Trail camera is up as of last night, thanks to a very good friend. I am bringing up mine to put up for the short term.

I will be looking at trail cameras that send photos direct to your phone and may contact a security system company or two. Each of these solutions would work fine for the summer. When winter comes the heat is off, not sure how to overcome that, but will be checking into options. Anything of any value is taken home in the winter, but that did not stop them from breaking in twice during the winter of 2008, so I need to figure out some system for that period every year.

The Deputy suggested I check all the pawn shops, I have called all in a 50 mile radius, nothing at any of them. I am told that everything they buy is downloaded to Minneapolis with a photo ID, every night. But some may not follow all the rules.

I will be checking out area garage and rummage sales, plus flea markets, just in case I can get lucky. I plan to hit Fleet Farm tomorrow, buy what I need for the short term and just go fishing.

I need to make an itemized list for the sheriff and insurance, so that will bring me down as I work on that through the week, but life will go on. As Larry Smith always says, “What a Great Day to be alive”. Things could be much worse. Two hours and then on my way!!!!!!!!

One bright shining star in this whole thing, just spoke with the insurance guy, full replacement cost on all. Make a list value off Cabelas or other websites and turn in.

I can at least start buying tackle this weekend, keep receipts and be covered. Making the list is going to take a long time.

The individual went to prison for meth and no further problem, he is out of prison and back, with his unemployed drug addict son. Coincidence, maybe.
I know I need to just move on, but we have vacation up there this week, leaving after work today. With no tackle, Saturday will be spent buying things to just get me by, instead of hitting the water first thing. Sales will definitely spike at Fleet Farm.

I spent last night trying to run through how many of what I had in the tackle box, at least $3000 to replace, maybe more. Needless to say I did not sleep well.

Hey DeerTracker, how do you think they well get rid of all this, sell cheap to someone for quick cash and drug money? What does your gut say with all your experience. I was thinking of checking every flea market, garage sale, and rummage sale tomorrow morning. Do you think that is worth a shot or a waste of time?

If you are fishing on the Whitefish Chain for walleyes I can pass this information along. I have never fished it but have discussed it with a couple different Guides in the Brainerd area, during fishing trips with each. This lake is one of their go to lakes as summer begins. The walleyes are on the deeper sand flats, in the 20′ – 30′ plus range. You need to find them, which can be a daunting task on any larger lake. You will need to also determine the depth of the thermocline, as that will somewhat reduce your maximum depth. Good luck. T

I have a 1775 Crestliner tiller that I bought new in 1991. Would love to have the boat you just bought but not in the cards at this time.

I have a transom mount and a bow mount, my typical fishing is in lakes and for lindy rigging, jigging, and casting to the weed edges, I use my transom mount 99% of the time. I find it much easier with other people in the boat to control and not trying to look around others to see the bow mount.

With the transom mount, everything is right at your finger tips, turn around and lower the trolling motor, bait up and go. I do use the bow mount for night time trolling of weedlines. In my opinion, the advantage of the tiller is never having to move, all right at your fingertips.

When I replaced all the flooring in my Crestliner several years ago, I took the opportunity to replace all the fuel, livewell and baitwell lines. I figured that since they were already exposed, why take the risk of them going bad in the future, creating a need for tearing it all out again.

You may want to consider pulling up the floor and doing this. It may not be necessary, but it sure gave me piece of mind.
