Bearcat thanks for the heads up on the minnows.
I had livescope and saw many sturgeon suspended halfway in water column. I would see 2-3 of them within 10′ of each other.
Anyone ever had luck targeting the suspended sturgeon?

I just returned from Rainy River with another friend; fishing 1 full day and 2- half days.
Fished first day at Pelland. only 1 sturgeon=my buddy caught his first sturgeon ever at 59″‘s.
Second day, fished out of Vidas, caught about a dozen sturgeon between 7am-1pm; no fish after 1pm. Of the dozen fish, 5 were between 50 and 61″‘s; the rest were under 30″‘s. Only 1 small sturgeon in 3 hours of fishing this morning,
The suckers were unbelievable as we went thru 250 crawlers. I personally caught over 40 suckers.
Other than 6 hours of fishing yesterday morning, we struggled mightily.

2 best deals I found were:

    1. 40% off everything at Duluth Trading
    2. Fish USA BOGO on St Croix Avid spinning rods (I did not take advantage of as already have 8 avids)

I launched today (20′ boat) absolutely no problems.
Did very well on panfish (kept none).

I would recommend Gill Tournament gloves. Waterproof and yet able to reel easily and take off fish. Not quite enough feel to bait hooks.
I believe they are around $40/pair.

I had someone give me a package of Uncle Josh Pork Crawler, natural, tried it once on a spinner rig and have never put a live crawler on again.

I have not found any of the Uncle Josh crawler for three years.
Do you have source for them?
    Thanks

I would also be interested to head down about February, I will probably have had 40 days of ice fishing by then and would love to to see some open water. And like previously mentioned 50 degrees is shorts weather.

I was out today catching crappies with livescope. It is really cheating. I wonder if the south crappies are as easy to find and catch?

I caught 2 -28″ plus walleyes last year on a 32″ ml panfish rod with 500 series reel on.
In my opinion you are good to go.

Hard water Fishing Show – started last year.
    2 weekend type fishermen.
Kind of corny but I like it (3.5 out of 5 stars)

Love the color, but need 1/4 oz for walleyes- with a 1/0 or 2/0 hook.

Also, maybe offer option to purchase 10.

Anyone use a Tumble Drumm fiah scaler and if so do they work well?
I was just watching a show where they scaled perch and it looked like it worked well. Does it work on crappies?
I love the skin but hate scaling a fish.

I have had one for 5 years. Absolutely love it!!
