The LMS 350 will automaticlly shut down on low voltage. Not by the amount of amps in the bat, but the actual voltage. Whe you start the big engine, the amps could be drawn down to the piont that you are actually usin 9.5 volts at 50 amps in stead of 12 at 25 amps. I seperated my locator to eliminate stray niose on the run (50mph+). But I noticed when i started the engine on cold mornings, I would watch the digital voltage meter drop way down while waiting for the engine to pop.

I need to agree here. The job of the corp is to maintain the river channel, dams, and pool elevations. Unfortuanately, this does not mean dredging silted sloughs.

There are a huge number of sloughs that held high numbers of quality fish, that simply do not exist today. I am sure that many old river rats can tell you about many sloughs that once flurished with fish are now dead water. In the thirty some years that I have fished this river, the changes have been incrediable to see.

I am also an avocate for the Govn. to keep their fingers out of everything; as much as possible. Too many people expect Big Govn to do everything for them….Not me. The more responsiblities we can take away from the govtm and bill out to those who use the service will reduce our taxes. I am sure that if the city puts out a referendum for the 25 to 50K to do the dredging, those who benifit will chip in to pick up the tab…My ten cents worth…Randy

WHIMPS How many of you touch those God forsaken slimy Pike??? Now theres a fish I do not allow in my beautiful rig!!

I am sure that so many big dog fish have been caught, belly sliced and thrown back that would have easily been state records. Not many people pay attention to rough fish. I rank the dogs up there with catching smallies on a 99 degree day!

Back in the late 70’s we caught what seemed like tons of them above Genoa. My flyrod was 7′ and we had some that were near the legnth of the rod. Maybe 55-65″ long. Looking at them as trash fish, we thought to weigh them of photogragh them…kind of like a carp with teeth.

I agree entirely with what you are saying here. Man influenced conditions caused this and nature will eventually restore. My piont was more to the decline of populations in other lakes that get pounded to death, everybody screams bloody murder about how it was, and the still keep ever adult fish they catch.

I am fortunate to live in central wisconsin where we still have some good fisheries. However, popularity has kicked in over the last few years. Now I have seen the “man’s influence” tilt the scales because of imbalanced pressure for a specific species. I want everyone to go out catch all the fish they ever would want to catch. It just does not happen when we over harvest.

I agree on Red. Keep’em.! This is a man influenced situation. I just want to raise some awareness to why we have such an influx of poipulations on so called natural lakes and rivers.

    “Nothing lasts forever…. ”

This is very true do to everyone has a different perspective on how things should be managed.

I have one of those fathers that always refers to “When I was a kid….” And “We used to catch all kinds of…all the time…”

What was not looked at in those days was the actual reproducing population of fish Vs the aduquate amount of suitable habitat in a given body of water

As an example: You have lake or river “XYZ”. The overall size is 5000 acres. The max depth is 87 feet with the average depth is 42 feet and 5.1 miles of shoreline. (porportion may be off a little) When comparing oxygen levels, weed growth, and bottom structure we find that the body of water has merely 1200 acres of suitable habitat.

Now looking at a healthy lake of 11 adult reproducing walleyes per acre we have about 13.5 thousand walleyes present. Consider this body of water within 50 miles of a major metropolitian city ie. Milwaukee. You now have about 1/2 a million fisherman hitting that lake over a given year. The odds don’t look so good; do they?

The same pricipal works for all species. Then look at the pressure during “peek” times…Spawning, ice-out, winter staging, accessablility.

I have seen some awsome bodies of water fished out in a short period of time. I am NOT saying don’t keep and eat fish. I’ll be the first to jump up and tell you how good a walleye fry tastes. Just need to use good judgement!

I just finished with an electrical nightmare. Little different though, someone once hot-wired the boat to take it for a ride.

After I got the skamatics(spelling?) from the Manufactures, I did all that I could myself. Still blowing fuses and guages not working, I took it to a dealer. At $65.00 / hour I choke and bit the bullet. He figured 2-3 hours….8 hours later he found the ignition switch had a short and was causing most of the problems. So nearly 10 hours and $115.00 switch later, everything works perfctly (except my mariage and checking account LOL)

But from you have explained, I would have the switch ested also. All you guages power or feed from the switch or engine harness.

Before I ever heard of “Ring worm” or Drop “Shotting” I cut down Zippers (looks about the same) and three-way-rigged them for slipping down the top of wing dams. Killer rig for ANY active feeding fish (or snake if you fish Savanah)

I called my promotions managr at Berkley and she confirmed that 400yrd spools would be available through this year. However, as stated above, the XT HI-Vis Green will replace the solar. They will be virtually thye same line, diferent packaging and marketing.

For any other questions on Berkley products call 1-800-BERKLEY. Their CSRs are great to work with and very honest!!!!

Here is a link to the web site on this product: http://www.berkley-fishing.com/products/PreDetail.cfm?PassPrevious=983&PassCategoryStructureId=1225&PassLevel=2
