I used this one listed on this page. They got right back to me. Then I followed up today with them. The customer service person said she needed more info, photos of the trap. She then emailed me back for my shipping address.

I bought three of them at the same time. This is the only problem I had with them. For the price they are great! They are catching fish and that is the bottom line.

The spring is about 16 feet down. Attached is a 1934 aerial photo before the lake was made. I have circled the spring. I got the idea when I watched videos of people fishing power plant discharge waters. I figured the spring water was about 50 degrees and might have fish. Pulled nine fish from there.

Quiet corner of Connecticut. I am about fifty yards from the spring. There is a deep channel running along the lake on the right side. That is where the fish are sitting. I am thinking they are sitting in the water flow waiting for food. All the perch were filled with insects from the bottom.

The spring worked out, got three perch in a half hour. There was 12″ of ice over it. When the lake was put in, all trees were cut and removed, they burned everything. No features on the bottom. The bite has been getting better as I work my way closer to it.

Do you use their waxed line? I am looking at trying it.

The grease worked great! Before I could pull the trap and check the bait without the flag go off. Now they have a hair trigger like my deer rifle. Took two flags to the face before I learned to move my head! Lol!!

I am heading to the local tackle shop this morning to see what they have. I have a white lithium grease that I use on my spinning reels. It is good down to only 0 degrees. The water under the ice is 40 degrees on the lake.

They were dry as a bone. I put silicone all temp lubricant on them and the flagpole which is in a tube. Now they spin! Thanks for the help!

They don’t spin freely. I was just worried about oil in the water where I was fishing. I wasn’t sure if this would repel the fish?
