I have to agree with Redneck. I like doing all the different techniques ,but I love to anchor, and I have a lot of success while anchored. There are a lot of different presentations you can employ also. Plus if I’m fishing with friends or family that are not avid fisherman or fisher-woman anchoring is so much easier for them. Also I can get real lazy, when anchored i don’t have to worry about boat control, and I can eat, which is one of my favorite things. If some one gets mad at me for that to bad. To me anchored boats always have the right of way.

Thanks everyone and thank you Stuart. For you guys with a stressfull job, just think of the day when your driving to the river or the bar or your girl friends house, when all the other stiffs are driving to work. it helps the time go by pretty fast.

you dont need counters on peppin or pool four. not deep enough to get any real use out of them. Experiment with your diff lures and areas and youll be fine, remember to pump that rod once in a while ,they like that.

I was also out in the wind and decided to just anchor and hide from the wind, sort of. I did manage some decent walleyes bouncing jig and minnows off the bottom, very cold, and the wind kept blowing the boat off anchor. A40lb anchor!!Now thats windy.

we were three-waying in 17 ft of water. the fish tried to pull the rod and rod holder in the river.I have to have this one mounted.

Nice fish, I thought I was nuts driving to work on sat, I was in a whiteout on hwy 58 between Goodhue and Zumbrota, I couldnt hardley see the road, and then I see someone towing there rig towards the river. And I wished It was me. It sounds like it payed off.

Put on a really big treble with lead melted on it.Hook the worm or doo on one of the hooks.Cast across the river,at the dam,and jerk like hell. not only will you get a lot of fish, youll also get a lot of new gear.

This may sound extreme but I like 25lb mono going to the sinker and 25lb fire line on the main line and on the leader. The fish are so tuned into the plug that I dont think they even notice a leader.Even in the clear water last week they were hitting. You loose a lot less gear, and the price of lures and big pencil weights is worth it.Of course there are some snags that you just cant get out of, but youll still get out of more snags with the heavy line.

My Dad said,They should lock me in the basement and make hundreds to sell. I dont think so. Its fun but not that fun. I lost a few of your plugs,so I guess I can spare a few.

No photos yet. I made the minnows out of balsa. Two blanks of wood with a wire I formed for the eyes and hook attachments. then glued togeather, sanded to shape, and sealed with poly then painted. The jointed plugs were carved with bass wood. Screw in eyes for hook and line attachments.

Yes much better than a desk. Last year North lake was good for some nice size crappie. They could still turn on, I did manage one very nice sized fish on Xmass afternoon.

I went out on north lake on Xmass day.Plenty of ice, 8 to ten inches, but the bite was real slow, one decent crappie and a carp tried to swim out of one of my holes.
