Congratulations Sis! Great spot of heaven that you have! Very appropriate new hardware for the secretary too. Good Luck to you and John young lady!!November 7, 2024 at 11:10 pm #2298121In my opinion when it comes to customer service, Johnson Outdoors is horrible to deal with. Period.
Garmin on the other hand has been 5 star. Nothing but good things.
Haven’t had to call Lowrance in 7-8 plus years but they “were” good to deal with.
I’m not here to debate your experience or to promote any brand.
I have no experience with Garmin other than a hand held GPS and the use of the app , Navionics. The ap is very helpful for both the US and Canada.
I remember Lowrance with their messed up NO customer service (that can be messed with too) that I actually got caught up into once as well.
I’ll stand by my statement concerning the last of the big 3 and their SC. I even have an email from the person from CS that was working with me after my issue mid Oct. “Follow up Regarding Ticket 87****”.
I will be in touch with the person tomorrow.
November 6, 2024 at 11:02 pm #2298021I had Lowrance units as early as mid 80’s I think but unsure to be exact. I had an issue with my first one and they repaired it and sent it back.
I had another new Lowrance in 1999, X?? idr. No issue, but considering todays electronics it was a hit and miss on it’s believability! When ever Bottom Line came out with their “HD” model I had zero issues with it. I ran the tow of them for a few years together.
Lowrance came out with the LCX15MT. Solid unit! Moved it to the bow and added the first Humminbird 987c SI unit in 2006 when it came out. I think HB was at least 5 years ahead of the competition regarding Side Imaging!!
I’ve been with HB ever since after the first one.
Sold the 987cSI Had Bird on the horn 2x’s. once my issue once theirs.
998 SI & 1198 SI. called once for help and resolved.Solix 12 mega SI & Solix 15 mega SI. I added a new Ulterra Quest 36v 72″ and had a bad cable that they sent and arrived in 2 days. I was loosing gps and mapping. Just last Oct, I spent a 1-1/2 hr on the first afternoon while on the water then drove home and I connected with the same SC agent and we went another maybe 2-1/2 or more hours before she seemed to have resolved my “One Boat Network” issues. I have one more little bug to figure out that most folks would not acknowledge was there. My system is now operating fully functionally! I’m happy!
I have praise for the Humminbird Customer Service!
Nearly no wait time on the phone!
Get a SC person to speak with that I can understand!
Gets to the bottom of the issue and resolves it!Do any of you remember the WAIT times for LOW back a few years ago with their SC??
DO any of you remember the law suits that were involved in the Side Imaging that Humminbird had with the other one of the big 3??
Bird was the first and are solid! Each of the 3 has their best pf category. All are close to each other now days.
I’ll stick with the Bird.October 11, 2024 at 1:18 am #2293363One of my favorite venison recipes is making street tacos out of a deer roast.
It’s pretty simple to make. Place a roast in a crockpot. Pour pace picture sauce in until the roast is 100% submerged in pace.
Cook until the roast shreds apart easily.Corn tortillas, shredded venison, cilantro, fresh chopped onion and some good homemade salsa.
Where can I find your “picture” sauce?

September 1, 2024 at 8:36 pm #2287655Mustang is an extremely high quality brand. What you really want in my opinion is the hydrostatic ones. They won’t pop in your compartment because it’s humid or damp.

Same ones I have in my boat x’s 3
August 29, 2024 at 4:28 pm #2287398We all know of one guy on this site that is doing a transom replacement with a pourable product then repainting the transom.
August 12, 2024 at 9:30 pm #2285152Seeing if there are any recommendations on shops to have a ARE topper repainted to match my truck. Going silver to black. I am in the Rogers MN area.
Fiberglass is ok, not advisable on aluminum.
August 12, 2024 at 9:29 pm #2285151It’s rumoured that Garmin has a new version in their back pocket that will have the ability to lock on and track a specific target fish…pretty wild if it’s true.
The Boys and I fished over the weekend, caught a bunch of fish without any electronics whatsoever.
As I was jigging blind over the side of the kayak with a cold beer in my other hand, the Boys were pulling micro cranks and pounding 9″ crappies behind little planer boards.
I laughed to myself thinking how it woulda drove some guys crazy not having a screen to stare at
Hasn’t Humminbird already introduced something like that? “Target Lock” maybe??
August 10, 2024 at 9:12 pm #2284910I’ve lost a total of 3 G-loomis/Shimano combos in a little over 40 years.
August 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm #2284908Andy, I’ve purchased a new G-loomis rod with a Shimano Stradic reel when on a trip down to Truman Lake, 20 ish years ago. I was in a cove in the front of the boat facing the rear talking to my partner in the rear. My hand just happened to relax open and allowing the rod/reel in slow motion to slip into the brink!
Got the CC bill later that month and had to pay for $350 that I’ll never see.August 8, 2024 at 9:53 pm #2284687Absolutely bleach! Up to a quarter cup in the large cooler and live well.
August 4, 2024 at 5:58 pm #2283966Reverse lever?
It has to be simple, right? All you were doing was replace the water impeller.August 4, 2024 at 5:31 pm #2283961Here ya go fishthumper. always happy to share a recipe.
That looks like mom’s recipe.
Nope, I’m wrong. Missing garlic, turmeric, and green pepper at least.
Wow, how different and yet similar a recipe can look!Attachments:
