The only spinning reels I use are sedonas and siennas. The line I have spooled on them hasn’t even seen water yet.
Drunk ordering has resulted in some of my best equipment purchases. Hahaha
As soon as i tried to put 3 combos in i realized i made a bad purchase. Sent ig back and got the cabelas deluxe on sale. Bite the bullet, spend a little extra now and youll stay happy later.
Buy it now prices have been lowered thanks to a certain someone. Have at it. Merry christmas.
Luckily i snagged a couple on ebay for a steal. But the sienna is just as nice honestly.
Side note, i’d really like to fine tune these nuggets, what other oil/lube should i use for the rest of the components? I plan on dissassembling them completely (as i’ve bought them lightly used, aside from the sienna) and soaking them in dawn dish soap and completely re-lube/oil.
Also checked out smoothdrags and found an ebay seller earlier. Thanks a lot for the help guys! But now I’m torn between hot sauce and cal’s.
Wetsleeve
It was your post on IS that I stumbled upon that sparked my interest actually! Haha thanks! Ill make sure to spread the cal’s a little lighter.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around the same issue. But, if there’s one thing ive learned, is there is a multitude of variables surrounding the issue. Some of the main variables, as far as ive learned, is water clarity, along with weather/sunlight conditions, and what the fish are eating. Clear water, silver, stained water, gold, then match your surrounding colors with what the fish might be eating. This is just MY hunch from my research. If anyone would like to elaborate or correct any of this info, please do!
I’m not sure wether or not $200 is your entire fund towards gear, or if that’s just what you have to work with for now, but try building up piece by piece. Scout ebay, CL, and amazon. Price point your gear next to other retailers price points to see what kind of bargain you can get away with. Over the past two months, I’ve spent probably $200 on over $500-$600 worth of equipment, all from just shopping smart. Once you get the basic idea of what you NEED, that’s when you can start to study up and scout out the best deals/values for the equipment that works best for you, in your case, within a $200 budget. SHOP SMART. Do a little extra googling and i guarantee it will save you TONS.
Lol well, if this is how the reel is actually made, I might just end up sending it back. It just does not feel right. Like, I really believe it has to be a defect. I wish i could describe whats happening more detailed, but it literally just feels like the the tension from the drag IS there, but at the same time just peeling line off. There’s no clicking, and it almost feels like there’s like no bearing or grease or something missing.
