There is a list of sites considered flooded and temporary closed on the voyagers website effective May 19th – June 1st. I would guess with the continued rise of the lakes the effective dates will be extended and additional campsites added.

I have a site for June 8th thru the 12th on rainy which is currently not on the list. We have not cancelled at this point but are leaning that way even if the site is not closed by the park due to additional hazards created by the high water.

I have the HF 2000 watt Predator generator and use it when camping up at voyagers to charge my boat battery’s & have never had any issues. I should add my on board charger is not a minnkota brand.

Opener, memorial weekend, 4th of July, Labor day are all long weekends i typically spend up north fishing multiple days. Most of the lakes i fish do not have special regs on them (one does but its a slot restriction not lower possession limit). If fishing is good ill keep my 6 walleye the first day then catch and release rest of the trip unless we have a fish fry. If fishing is bad ill keep what i can each day until i get my 6 allowed in possession. My idea of an eater size walleye is 14-17″ usually anything over 18″ goes back to be caught again another day.

For the record I’m fine seeing the limit lowered to 4 per person state wide. Most people have multiple people in their family allowing them to keep additional fish anyway.

I’ve had an Otter Resort for 3 years now and would still be my choice if i were to buy again. No issues with poles or hubs & the zippers still work great. Hard to find anything bad about them besides the rod holders are basically pointless. Mesh up top is nice for gloves/stocking caps etc… but not the best for a heavy coat. IMO the best hub if your fishing on a windy day. Eskimo no trip doors would be nice to have tho!!

always get a size bigger than you think you’ll need. i usually only fish 2 out of my resort and the extra room is nice!

fill a 5 gallon bucket up about 1/4 always keeps fish alive for me. i keep it inside my hub whenever possible.

Regular blue genz box would get my vote also. No need for a soft side bag if you have a screen cover.

Good ole 2 burner coleman stove works perfect for coffee, fishfry, hotdogs, ramen noodles, beans etc.

Priced right at under $50. I use mine camping up at voyagers twice a year and out ice fishing all the time in winter.

Being able to use 2 lines in summer would be nice. I liked the idea of paying an additional fee in order to use a 2nd line. Maybe an extra $10 or double the regular cost of a fishing license?

Keep possession limits the same for walleye, crappie & sunfish but cut daily limits in half. Would be similar to what south dakota does. Would help motels & local restaurants also being people driving further are encouraged to fish multiple days in order to get their possession limits.

additional funding from extra line fee could go towards additional CO jobs to help with enforcement. i agree on most lakes there is no enforcement do to lack of CO availability. With no enforcement changing limits wouldn’t even matter.

Deka marine batteries made by East Penn Manufacturing are still made in the US. I was originally looking to buy Interstate batteries from my local auto parts store and was told they see a lot more warranty issues on interstate batteries since production was moved out of the US. They recommended Deka brand marine battery and i have not had any issues (2 years old).

Ive rode in both a 1675 Lund Pro Guide & a 165 competitor with 4stroke 60hp motors and both imo were under powered with 3 guys and full livewells. they are wide boats and need some decent hp to get up on plane.

Plans haven’t changed. Staying at a buddies cabin in otter tail county. Will do our best to social distance when possible. Besides the bait shop will not need to enter any gas stations/grocery stores.

Was up Saturday & Sunday out of Westwind. Saturday was busy and the fishing was a little slower but still plenty of action. Lots of over size fish out there id say we had a 4-1 ratio of over to under 17″ eyes.

As for the majority of the people leaving around dusk IMO is because of a couple reasons.

    * its just easier to pack up while you still have some light left.
    * safety – early ice is unpredictable and crossing cracks/ridges.
    * 8 hours in a portable is long enough we were out by 8am both days so by 4pm were more than ready to clean & eat our fish.

Does anyone know if you can purchase the strikemaster 40v power head with the lite flite auger? or purchase just the 40v power head?

Image from 12/1/19 still shows a visibly large crack running the length of the lake (most likely smaller less visible cracks also). Id guess people are going to be restricted to roughly the same areas others have been fishing for the past couple weekends. If you want to avoid crowds your best chance is NOT going on a friday or saturday.

Maybe this issue is why the guy was selling the auger on craigslist in the first place? Sounds like strike master has at the very least been contacting you back in a timely manner, and trying to work with you to find a resolution on an out of warranty item. I think expecting them to provide you a new power head is a long shot.

I purchased a jiffy pro4 lite propane auger a few years ago & had nothing but problems with it. Was offered warranty service though a certified repair shop twice which never seemed to fix the issue. I cut my losses and bought an electric auger it just wasn’t worth the frustration. On a side note i still have a slightly used jiffy pro4 lite auger if anyone is interested!

I’m a tiller guy and fish primarily from the back of the boat. Even if they come out with a remote the head until does not turn, id have to imagine it will be hard to tell the motors course. The arrow on top of the motor most likely will not be visible from anywhere but the front seat. Unless they have some type of heading on the remote screen?

Walleye Hungry – your talking about a lindy weight while shockers is talking about a bottom bouncer, which are two different style weights. using a bottom bouncer allows you to get the spinner rig up off the bottom. the heavier weight allows you to fish faster while still keeping your line around a 45 degree angle. fishing a lindy style weight your probably fine on mille lacs with a 3/8oz unless you run into a windy day.

I despise the idea of dragging trolling bags of buckets

If you don’t want to use the tools available one can only expect mediocre results.

Bags will pin the other side of the boat where it should be.

Are they pain in the A$$, absolutely. Worth it for the control, absolutely.

I have an 18′ 04 ProV Tiller and when facing a cross wind will most often troll backwards with a drift sock attached to the bow. Yes it is a pain to deal with at times but i figure the benefits out weigh the negatives… plus i always bring a buddy with and its his job to pull the sock in/out )

I agree will be interesting to see what Army they have left. Sending the dothraki screaming off into the dark made for cool visual effect, but realistically was about the dumbest thing they could have done from a strategy point.

“that was referring to Sansa and Joffry”

it was but that never came to be, so who knows? seems the writers like to put specific lines into early episodes that have meaning in later seasons.

Arya Stark and Gendry (son of Robert Baratheon) hook up and their child sits on the iron throne. In the very first episode Robert told Ned “I have a son, you have a daughter, we’ll join our houses.

Does anyone have multiple Garmin Ecomap Plus graphs networked? If so can you share maps?

Im wondering if I link 2 Garmin Ecomap sv plus units is only one HD Ultra chip needed to view maps on both screens? or would i have to purchase a separate chip for each graph?

    thanks in advance!

Fished sunday afternoon into the evening and would agree with Brians statement:

“Reports I’ve heard were “good” fishing…what that means is you’ll struggle if your a newbie to the river.”

Water clarity was definitely down – We found more walleye willing to cooperate than sauger.
