Picked up the coleman two burner yesterday. Heck of a deal. Fried some walleye up on it last night. worked great. can’t wait to use it more.

the biggest thing I noticed with the predators from my other rods was the weight savings. They make fishing all day a lot easier.

between them and the st croix big nasty they are great rods.

    Thank you everyone.

I have thought about the alternator, but I don’t make very long runs with the big motor so I am not sure I would get very much charge. Also I don’t necessarily have the space in my boat for one because it’s a 17 foot.

I am hoping the predator generator is the ticket. Worst case scenario I can use it camping to keep the minifridge cold with beer.

I appreciate all the responses so far. Thanks again.

Thank you all for the reply’s so far.

My charger has an output of 10 amps per bank so we are just planning on running the generator at the end of the day back at camp. probably let it run overnight till the gas runs out if we don’t get up early enough.

The telescoping chaos rods are awesome. Can fit them in the rod locker and you are good to go. For a lightweight combo I would opt for the 400 as the 500 is larger heavier. It wears on a guy if you are casting all day. If you are not looking for telescoping rods then either the thorne bro rods or st croix legend tournament would be a good bet. Hope this helps.

had the same issue on my terrova last year. first time out it made the high clicking/knocking sound. Returned it to fleetfarm and the second one worked great.

I am interested in this topic as well. Hopefully some boat rigging guru’s can share their knowledge.

I have had an aqua view AV micro 5 now for about 5 years. In my experience with it I have just used it for scouting spots and looking for weeds. Great little camera for that. it does have an AV out plug that comes with to hook up to the TV.

I have had a few issues with the camera also. In the 5 years of owning the camera i have had to send it in 3 times for warranty claims on the infrared lights not working as well as the video cutting out. The cable is so thin I think after a year of use those wires get brittle and loose connection, The picture would cut in and out for me. Needless to say the customer service was pretty good as they warrantied it every time for me except this last winter when it happened. Now I just need to fiddle with the wiring to get the picture to come in.

If I am ever in the market for a camera again looking at how thick the camera cord is going to be one of the first things I look at. I hope this info helps in your search.

I see in the report the stations are open 1/2 hour before sunrise and 1/2 hour after sunset. After reading the violations section it makes it sound illegal to launch your boat without an inspection before or after those times. Am I understanding this correctly?

Power is coming from the master power switch on the dash. I will double check again when I get home tonight on voltage.

I have the smartstrike chips and I find it valuable at times. I think for the most part the areas it highlights are pretty common. The thing I like about it is if I am not finding fish at all I look to the lake map and look for secondary areas the chip had highligthed and gives a guy confidence to try those areas. I think the smartstrike chips are only another $40-50 so to me that extra cash was worth it.

I have heard if you turn the surface clutter setting up a little bit this helps with reducing the double bottom and the depth from bouncing around. Worth a shot if you have not tried it yet.

I have a 32″ medium action Avid ice series and is good for ripping raps and reaction type strikes. The rod is a little stiffer so if you fish lighter spoons or jigs might want to consider a medium light or something on that order. Never used the mojo ice though so I won’t be able to offer any advice between the two series of rods. Hope this helps.

Was out there Saturday for the opener. right away in the morning we had water temps in the low 40’s. Went on the search for warmer water and found more active fish. Couldn’t seal the deal on any walleyes but the pike were sure hungry.

Is your unit that is connected to the US2 sonar just a sonar/GPS combo, or is it capable of down imaging as well?

MinnKota just let me know that currently down imaging units are not supported with US2 internal sonar.

I just bought a new 80# 24 volt terrova with I pilot link and I have it connected via the ethernet hub to a 859HD DI humminbird at the bow and an Onix8 Humminbird at the console. The graphs are powered by their own separate battery. the Ethernet hub is running off the cranking battery. The 2 trolling motor batteries have nothing additional running off of them. I have all 4 batteries connected to the minnkota 4 bank onboard charger though.

The first time I took my boat out I had the external trolling motor transducer for my 859 on the terrova and I did not experience any interference. This weekend I took off the external trolling motor transducer and hooked the 859 up to the internal US2 sonar within the trolling motor to see how that would work. I noticed interference every once in a while while I was just drifting, but really noticed it as soon as I turned the prop on for the trolling motor. The depth readings got very sporadic.

Any Idea of what may be going on or how to fix?

I called Minnkota and they said to move the trolling motor wires as far away from the graph power wires as far as possible and see if that works. If that doesn’t work then I am going to try unhooking my onboard charger terminals from the trolling motor batteries to make sure the trolling motor batteries are completely isolated.

    Thank you.

Minn Kota mentioned it could be an armature ticking some wiring within the unit. I exchanged the motor for a different one. Hopefully this one won’t have that issue.

I don’t do much trolling but these are my suggestion for casting:

    bucktail
    suick
    medussa
    prop style topwater

Those 4 baits could get you through a whole season if you resisted the urge of buying more musky lures that most of us guys have.

I use an aluminum big max trailer from Fleet farm. Decent price for an aluminum trailer and hauls easy.

Louisiana Style Cajun flavor. Comes in a yellow bag at cub foods. super easy to use and it is a nice light coating than a thick batter. Awesome taste. All I use now.
