Dogsleds have a dovetail type fastening system these days that accepts a variety of plastics. For the fish house the UHMW is the way to go.

When you put this line in (I watched as this 126 year old women instructed him to fill out his ballot) you immediately lost credibility with me. Everything else you say is suspect. you proudly titled your post (I made a scene while voting)
What followed was a description of how you chose to be disruptive. That kind of action at a polling place may easily discourage some people from staying in line and voting.
You saw what you saw and you were concerned enough to return and report that issue. Nothing wrong with that though I question from what you report that there was any intent to influence votes there is not real way for us to know. When you report your concerns you can ask that this dedicated poll worker modify her instructions in a way that alleviates your concerns. I suspect the poll worker would comply. Mission accomplished.
What you chose to do was to act like a toddler throwing a tantrum. That’s at the least distasteful for people and can be scary and intimidating. That does put you as the center of attention for a bit and it may make you feel like a real patriot. The reality it way different than that. I hope you can look back on that and next time stand up for what you believe in a way that shows some respect for the people around you.

My daughter’s 11th grade high school teacher sent out an email last week addressed to her asking how she would like to be identified and what her choosen pronoun should be.
Shits getting out of hand with some of these public institutions…

I don’t see why that would be a problem. Seems like a teacher making personal contact and caring about the young people.

William Bakewell settled near me in Dukes, Michigan. He was the only American on the Endurance and led an incredibly adventurous life. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/22454219/william-lincoln-bakewell I drive by his Homestead whenever I go to Marquette from Chatham. Shackleton was a once in a lifetime leader no doubt! I have always paid close attention to polar travel. Put some miles on in the North with my sled dogs including a trip with Will Steger in 84/85 to test gear and travel techniques for his subsequent North Pole Expedition in 86.

There are cigarette lighter style power points and USB ports for power and charging.
There is a ceiling fan to distribute heat but that is seldom used.
I use a hi lift jack to block it up when I leave it any amount of time and then bank the sides of course.
It is hooked to a 30 pound LP tank and that lasted twenty days on the ice. We were camped 10 of those nights and then left it on low,
    45 degrees.

I have an 8X12 Aluma Lite with a V front. Bunks were added, a vented heater and a solar panel. I pull this with my Bearcat snowmobile. I am in the Upper Peninsula so there is a lot of snow. Not fancy but functional and about as light as possible. I have found that I use ropes to tow when there is any amount of snow to deal with. Difficult to break them loose with the rigid tow system. I have had some fun campouts with the Granddaughters in this rig.

I recently lost a cylinder on my 225 Opti. Parts for a rebuild were just not available in any reasonable time frame. Looked like it might be 15 months or more before I would be back on the water.
Searched all over for a new 225 four stroke and it took me 3 weeks to find one and I just lucked into that. I bought the 4 stroke. All controls and gauges matched up fine. The new 4 stroke is lighter than my Opti and is an awesome performer. Not cheap but I have been back fishing for a few weeks now.
Check and see that you can actually get all parts needed for a repair. And see if you can find a new one anywhere just to compare.
It is crazy timees in the supply chain for sure right now.

I have an Otter Resort. An Aluma Lite Lil Munchkin 5X7 less than 300 pounds and last year got an Aluma Lite 8X12 that was converted to a sleeper and used it with my Granddaughters. I pull all of these with a Bearcat snowmobile. Since getting a light weight skid house I have not used the Otter Resort. When leaving a skid house out I make sure it is jacked up adequately. Easy with a hi lift jack and some blocking. I sometimes opt for towing with a rope bridle rather than the rigid hitch when there is significant snow. The rigid towing can make it tough to start the unit moving after even a short pause as sleds like to stick at first. Spinning your track gets you nowhere but in a hole. A gentle one foot worth of slack with the rope bridle will most often break you loose easily as you go forward. Those skid houses can go lots of places through lots of snow. I live in the UP of Michigan and we average upwards of 220 inches annually here. I vote skid house all the way!

Hi Kimberley, Take a sled. You can use your pack but put it in a small plastic sled. They pull easy and it is lots more efficient than a backpack with your snowshoes. Dress in layers and take layers off before you get too warm and sweaty. Drink before you get thirsty. Don’t hurry!
    Enjoy!

What kind of boat/trailer did you have it on? I have a Ranger 620 but I don’t see a 4 inch as a choice on their website? Let me know.

Tell me about the metal blades you got. Where at? Do you have a link on where to purchase them?

Go with the Milwaukee cordless. Awesome tool I love. I also have a large Husqvarna 2 stroke trimmer that is great and very powerful that I just no longer use. The Milwaukee does the job.

This is exactly the rig I am looking for. Can you call me at 906-439-5747? Or 906-869-3488? or give me your phone number. I have a couple of questions.
    Thanks,

I tried mounting the panoptix on the bow mount shaft as shown in the pic earlier in this thread. I was unable to bring the motor up to a secure position with it located there.

If you are pulling sleds with runners rather than a toboggan or tub type you can do what dog mushers do on glare ice in some of the longer races that sometimes face these conditions. The Kuskowim River has these conditions not infrequently for there Kusko 300 race. A device named a skate is used here. Think of a hockey or speed skate. Not necessarily as long but metal and sharp. In that race this device is often bolted to a runner with a spring type arrangement to keep it up except when it is needed. Then it is stepped on and the fishtailing ceases.
In your situation you could bolt this on semi permanently. The skate is the best answer. The exact way to do it on your towable is up to your imagination.

What does it take to make the panoptix ice package useful on the boat for open water?

I have an ’03 Rincon that has 17,000 miles on it. It has been a dependable machine for me. The one thing that can be a bit of an irritant is that in cold weather it requires a several minute warmup before the transmission operate normally. It will seem to “slip” if not warmed up. Once warmed up everything is fine. My Honda Rubicon with about 10K miles on it works fine right away in the cold. Fire it up and go. Not a big deal but a minor irritant at times.

Is CLR a brand name or a contraction of a name? Don’t know what it is.

I was on Kab for the first time in September this year. Hired Tim Watson and could not have been more pleased. He got us on a limit of Walleyes in some tough conditions and showed us numerous spots to fish that we used later in our week long stay. He is at http://kabetogamaangling.com/
    I highly recommend Tim!

In your position I would vote for the Marcum Ice Troller 2.0. They are incredibly versatile and cheap. It’s a unit you will still want to keep when you decide to upgrade in the future. Some deals on Craigslist from time to time but they are ver reasonable new.
