West Central. But be very care full. This was the only spot that I went on the ice to check. all other lakes looked to ify. Most are obviously not safe. Just looking out at the water. This was a very small pond that holds some pan fish. NOT MUCH A LAKE. Though it is called a lake. This spot has always froze up before any other lakes.

November 23, 2014 at 10:27 am #1476037Nice gills. They like anything in particular?
Not realy. They took any thing from small jigs to small spoons, tipped with wax worms or not, The bite was hot.
October 27, 2014 at 8:30 pm #1467742I second the Jiffy propane. Bought one last year and man does it cut fast. Starts at 5 below in one to two pulls. Never fiddling with chokes. Love it. Clean, neat but a little heavy. I do find the heavier weight helps drill the hole though. I never have to put downward pressure on the unit. Just hang on and the hole is cut before you know it.
You should not put downward pressure on auger, no need to do so.
NO DOUBT !

Fished the DL area with my wife yesterday evening after work. We found the biggest bluegills a bit deeper, just off the edge of green weeds in about 12 fow. Ice was still about 2.5′ thick but getting soft.
Nice fish.
I had one of those days.Forgot my tackle bag only had the jigs that where on the last time out and my auger did not run out on the ice , so I used some holes that where open, kinda lucky too Id guess. Thing is when I got home checked out the auger it ran fine.March 5, 2014 at 4:42 pm #1394167It is not illegal to be MI. So document all that this person does, contact with you and others make complaints even if they wont go anywhere. If you need to defend your self’s do so. But remember taking matters in to your own hands may be illegal. And you are liable for your actions. Until this guy acts out there is little you can do. Knowing what you know is not enough for mental health professionals to act. This is one of the barriers to getting MI individuals help before they act with violence. Background checks and gun laws will not help with this, but good mental health laws and professionals will. These individuals should not be ignored It leads to homelessness and street crime of all kinds both victims and preps. Our mental health system in this county sucks. To many barriers but persons do have rights. Tough call until something happens. What is considered harmful to self or others needs to take place before any thing can be done.
March 4, 2014 at 3:42 pm #1393759Not a lot of carp action in the winter. But in the summer WOW! get a lot of them when fishing for bait on the red river. They bite on the same baits as the goldeye. And seem to be active from ice out until water temps get in the 40s.
I’ve heard of guys getting though the ice. I have gotten bit when jigging though the ice for blue gills but not landed any line breaks every time so far. Love the fight fast pull hard and their big.
