    – Still looking to possibly purchase a set of ice fishing bibs. I have held off for the past couple years because I do have a perfectly good pair of Gander Mtn Insulated Camo Hunting Bibs. Might just use them again this year.

I have no stake in the company at all, but Striker bibs are so damn comfy, it’s easy to take naps in them out in the cold! I use my insulated carhartt’s for early ice, hunting, and general wear and tear but the strikers feel like wearing a nice warm blanket even when temps get below 0. I’ll be using them for snowmobiling this year since I decided to get into yet another wallet destroying hobby )

I absolutely love my Striker bins and jacket. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten cold in them. Are they pricey? Yes. But soooo worth it based on the extra time out on the ice due to staying warm. Plus, they’re Wisco based, a plus for me.

I purchased the 40V Strikemaster last year. It performed flawlessly all season. Didn’t miss my gas auger at all.

I have the Flx-28 and an old Fl-8. I will never part with them. Always reliable and as someone mentioned earlier, they’re bulletproof. Doubtful I will upgrade those anytime soon for my main electronics. I purchased a Helix 5 last year for the boat and to mount on the atv for its gps option to carryover to ice fishing. More than likely I may add an ice ducer for it this year to utilize its options. I won a Lowrance hook 2 unit last year. Used it on some deadstick set ups and love the fact that I can see some history as to what’s going on below me.

But, with all that being said. The vex will remain my trusty hole hopping partner for a long time. If just for the fact that it feels like an old friend out there with me.

Just picked one up at Farm & Fleet. Seems like a solid unit. $149.99. Feels more solid than my Portable Buddy, anyway. The side storage area really isn’t that big. I can see a pair of light gloves fitting in there, but anything bulky… no way. I do like the add on option, but we’ll see if I really want to drop another $75 on that. A 2 hour burn time on high with a one pound cylinder means I’ll be utilizing my 20 lber for any longevity. I’ll try to post again once I fire it up.
