Yeah it does. It’s not the transducer though. I plugged in the ducer from another lx7 and it still made the sound.

Only way the sound stops is if it’s on the 20 degree cone angle.

Used it all day yesterday without problems too! I guess I’ll have to send it in.

I didn’t have any issues with the direction, but mine was just sent in for repairs due to the temp and depth not working.

Temp works on mine, but now that you say it, I don’t think the depth does. I’ll inquire with Marcum on how to fix this. Frustrating that this was new out of the box, and that these issues persist. And, taking it back won’t solve not having a camera. Everyone’s out of stock. I should still have the receipt. Thanks for the reminder on this!

Mine does the same thing. Goes from south to southeast, back to south in a full circle. I didn’t want to take it back, but I might have too.

Great. Appreciate it. As long it stays on my sled up at Crawfords, that’s all I care about! I’ll give it a shot.

    Interesting. Thanks!

Just by looking at it you wouldn’t think it’d be that sturdy. But from your videos, it doesn’t look like it’s moving at all. I really want mine in front. Last year it took a beating on the back of the sled.

Also was out Friday on Burntside. Our group caught 4, lost another at the hole, and marked a handful more. Other 2 in the group had a wheeler and only got stuck once. Wasn’t easy travel but still got around.

Perfect. I’ll be on a sled, so it sounds like it shouldn’t be a problem. Thanks!

How is the slush situation on Burntside? Heading up this weekend.

Yeah, it has a few, and that’s what I did last year. It had Clearwater West on there, but it was extremely inaccurate, and when you zoomed in on the lakes, White Otter disappears. Just wasn’t sure if there was anything else out there. Ideally going there with a autochart lakemaster chip would be the best. But haven’t been able to make it up there in the summer yet.

Thanks for the update! It’s much appreciated. The Van Vac public access on the south central portion have about the same?

Drouin for Dumba? No way. You’d be trading away a D-man that’s outscoring the winger that you’re trading for. It’d be a huge gamble because both players are young and sure, Drouin could have lots of upside, but that’s a huge gamble.

One player is not going to fix the Wild’s low offensive production. The reason we are in as good of shape as we are is because of the stingy D that holds teams like Dallas to 1 goal. Add to that we have D men with significant offensive skills and to me that’s too good to mess up on a highly speculative trade.

Wild need to focus on getting farm talent up into the big league. They also need to draw a hard line under how long they’re going to sit on some underproducing players that have trade value.

    Grouse

Graovac and Folin (who is hurt) are basically our talent in Iowa. The rest of our talent is either overseas, juniors, or college. Until they move on from there, we don’t have much down there. That’s the only negative to drafting players planning to play for a University. I don’t want to part from Dumba, but we have so much defense depth, one of them are going to get traded.

I’m new to this thread and forum, and didn’t want to read way back. But, I’m a diehard fan. I’m read from Russo that we’re high up in talks for Drouin and Tampa is asking for Dumba in return. Not sure how I feel about that, but I’m starting to wonder if they are keeping Reilly up here to see if he can do what Dumba has been, because they are considering that trade. It’ll be interesting to see if the Wild make a move, and what they deem a good trade!

I was up over the weekend after New Years. I found 10-13″. It’s obviously changed since then, but I was on a snowmobile, so I can’t speak for vehicles. But, I went away from everyone and did very well. It’s just the common theme there. Get away from people, you’ll catch some fish.

I’ve only been fishing lakers for 3 years, but I feel like I’ve learned a lot. I usually make 3-4 trips a winter to Ely and one trip to Canada. I’ve never fished snowbank, i’ve always heard mixed reviews, so I have always stuck with trying to figure out burntside. The fish are all mixed sizes and as a group we’ve never been skunked. That’s not to say it’s not slow sometimes. Laker fishing to me is equivalent to muskie fishing. If you land one or two, it’s a good day. But you’ll have those exceptional days as well. Last year’s opener I took my girlfriend and we landed 7 fish and lost 4 during the fight. Best day out i’ve had in a long time.

As far as baits go, rippin raps and tube jigs are my go too. I’ve never used them, but i’m adding bucktail jigs to my arsenal this year.

It took me personally 3 trips to catch my first one, but it’s been an addiction I cant tame ever since!

Thanks for the update! That’s a decent amount of ice. If anyone else has an update tomorrow or friday and is willing to post it, it’d be appreciated! Anyone know if the snowmobile trail is marked yet across the lake?

Awesome. Thanks for all the info guys! I ordered both mounts, so I’ll start with the handlebar and if it isn’t sturdy enough I’ll go to the base mount. And it sounds like I’ll just run the wiring with a fuse!

Great. Thanks for the info. I don’t think I have an aux plug in, so I’m probably going to have to wire it differently. Either way, I’m hopeful it will work the same!

Out of curiosity, how did you mount this?

I have a 2015 Polaris Switchback Assault. I have a Humminbird Helix 5 that I’m planning on mounting. I purchased a RAM mount that I would have to screw it somewhere on my dash. This seems like it’s going to be a lot of work, and there aren’t very many ideal places to mount it. I just ordered a handlebar mount to see if that will work better.

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, how did you wire it to your battery? Just straight to the battery with a built in fuse?

    Thanks!

I grew up in Waseca, not too far from there. I work in Le Sueur County. You’re best bet is to hit lakes by mankato. Washington is a very popular walleye lake. But, use extreme caution. That’s a lake that has springs, and can have some shotty ice on it. Back in high school, we used to fish Scotch. No idea what the size would be now, but it had some decent numbers. We used to fish that early ice. The lakes down here aren’t very great, especially for walleyes.

It must be a normal thing for them, then. I stayed with them from Jan 1-Jan 4th. Same experience here. We were in their 5 man, and they were right off the main road. We were closer to shore than when I was fishing early season up there. We caught 2 fish in the first 24 hours, it was awful. After a full day in the house, I had had it, and went out in my portable with one more from our group. We caught our 6 fish in 15 minutes. While we were out, the neighboring house had said they finally waved someone down because they hadn’t stopped, and were told all of the houses were being moved. So, we left 2 behind in the rental that night and went out in the portable for a couple hours and iced 25+. Portavilla never showed up, and we paid for another wasted night where we had zero bites. Finally they moved us our last day there, and we caught some fish. It was frustrating knowing had they just moved us right away we could have caught fish the entire time. They never stopped to check on us, only when we ran them down when we needed something.

I’ll feel more comfortable if people are out there in vehicles! I’ll only be on a sled, so I’m hoping most areas will be alright for that! Never had the need to visit snowbank, as burntside has always been good to me!

That’s good! Hoping for a solid 7+” if we’re lucky. I’ve only fished it for 3 years running now, but have never had a year where there wasn’t a foot by opener. Are there a lot of areas to avoid on the main lake? Or in general is it alright? I’ve always heard the north portion can get sketchy. I usually head west of the access around that first pinch point, then head up north and west again.

Every year I ask the baitshop about areas to avoid, but it’s never been specific.

I have a buddy who works with someone that has a cabin on the lake. That guy was there over the weekend and reported 2″ in a lot of places. I see Steve Foss had on his FB page 4-5″ in places he checked. I too am hoping there is enough ice for sleds come opener. Not sure what I’d do if there wasn’t!
