Thank you sir, it is greatly appreciated. Looks like they are just using screws.
That is a good spot for the SI/DI transducer. Make sure they also hook up the glassed in transducer that comes with the boat with the splitter cable so you have depth while running. If you have any questions, feel free to message me and we can talk.
I have run the 2018 2060 for just over a year now. I have been very happy with the construction and fit and finish of the boat. In my humble opinion the Boat should not be sold without tabs. This hull is much faster than the 2017’s and with boats everything is a trade off. If you are not running hard it has a tendency to porpoise without the tabs if you have someone sitting in back. The slightest touch of tab cures it. Also, the mercury 4 blade LT seems to be a better prop choice than the SWS2 in these boats. Almost everyone I have talked to says it’s a night and day difference. I have to wait a few months to try mine out. All in all I would not hesitate to take my Boat out in rough weather. It is a 20ft Boat, so 6ftrs I’m staying home, but if you get caught you can scream in or ride it out slowly on the way in safely. There is definitely a rough water advantage to a 21+ ft boat, but not enough to justify another 10k for me. I don’t think you can go wrong with the new skeeters, I absolutely love the layout of mine for what I do. With the tabs and a 4 blade prop you can bury the nose and go through just about anything at 15-20 mph. I have not had this Boat really slam on me yet. Even before tabs and it would bounce a little it always re-entered softly and was very dry.
Thanks to all, ed set me up with Jacks. Talked with them today. I will probably go with the 19’ as I usually have 3 kids on board. Top speed isn’t a real concern.
Thanks again,
Nick
I did not get the read out. I have run tabs for quite a while on other boats. It won’t take long for you to know where they are by the feel of the boat. I did have to mill the hole in the aluminum dash but not a big deal
Just wanted to post an update on the tabs. First rough water trip yesterday, and it is a whole new boat. No bouncing and a much improved ride. On plane at 20-25mph in some slop. For the price I would add these again in a second. I went with the 9×12 lencos. Also porpoising is gone with the slightest amount of tab.
If you could post a picture of their mounting location it would be greatly appreciated. I didn’t see how they would still allow me to use my ratchet tie downs with the 12’s.
Thanks again
Amps are amps, it measures the flow of electrons. I would just buy the minn Kota kit https://minnkotamotors.johnsonoutdoors.com/accessories/trolling-motor/plug-recptacle-mkr-18
In reality you would probably never have an issue with the 30amp plug because it probably has a large safety factor built into it, and you will rarely run all out continuously. But why take a chance for $30.
Here’s the side rod locker. It’s all 1 piece molded. You could Roto-zip whatever you want, but it is definitely smaller than the current 2190. I think both these compartments were reduced in size to gain cockpit size. The rear storage is a major improvement for me, and the new seating works for my kids. I do agree that the old jump seats were a little more secure in rough water, but I typically try to pick my days with the young ones.
Here are the couple on my phone, I will take some pics of the side rod locker tonight. The starboard side locker shrunk quite a bit, it is a good place for planet boards. Any other specific questions I would be happy to answer
