Chris, You mentioned that you were afraid to go to his house because you didn’t want to see him die. Don’t go there to see him die go there to see him LIVE. Take all of the precautions that you can for emergencies, but if it’s his time it’s his time. I was very close to my grandfather and would give anything to have some time back to spend with him. Spend as much time as you can with him and cherish it.

Things happen in the woods and we don’t know the story of this animal, but it makes a point to me how important it is to make the ethical and humane shot.

Been there done that. I lost the dog. Thanks Steve, now I have to stay away from lab breeders for at least a month. As docile as that dog is to that kid, if anyone touched that boy they would get there arm ripped off.

Tough subject, I agree that picking and choosing laws to live by is a slippery slope. That being said, in the area that I hunt, there is an old boy that we are pretty sure does just that. If a deer happens to come into his woods and he needs food it’s down. We don’t have proof of this and we are not going looking for any.

Steve I don’t know if the people that I know train directly but they have an awesome lab in Austin. They might be able to help you out. PM me if you are interested.

Great choice, I have a few different calibers and makes from 44mag on down. I usually take a few of them out but end up shooting the browning buck mark varmit the most, have fun!

Great choice Jay. That was money well spent, and a portion goes back to the needy. Matt and sherry are very giving people.

You shouldn’t be having jamming problems with that gun, but I would try a different box of ammo and a different load. Then if you still have problems you have done some trials and can tell the manufacturer that. If the dealer has a range it is always nice to shoot it there.

Three great bucks, three great pics. TJ nice shot on both accounts. Eric I thought that the pink fletching would have put you over the top, just kidding. And Beetle nice recurve harvest. Congrats guys.

I would keep a very close eye on that dog, don’t give him the opportunity to get a nip in. But allow the two to be together in a controlled enviroment. If he shows aggression it’s time to do something. Maybe give him to someone without young children. I had the worlds best lab for 12 years he was agressive to some other dogs but never to a human, I always said that if he threatened a kid he was going away. Thank God I never had to make that decision, once they attack you can’t take it back. My son was at the inlaws and was bitten by a neighbor dog ( a lab that the owners were afraid of). Luckily it didn’t bite his face he was 5 at the time and still loves dogs. The authorities took care of that dog before I got to it.

Long ago when I worked for an archery manufacturer, I personally talked with Tred Barta he was and is ptetty “out there”. I also find it hard to believe with his tactics that there isn’t alot of editing going on. But if anyone believes that the hunts that you watch on tv are anyhting like the hunts that most of us have you are mostly mistaken ( canned, edited, baited ect.). Tred is a very rich man, and can aford to spend alot of time and money hunting. I will say that Tred had a very good statement when he said something to the effect “a trofy isn’t always about the rack or size of the game but about the hunt/ experience.
