My partner&I seen the same thing on pool 13.Although they seemed to be common in skinny water near the bank.Opposed to water that was deeper. My thoughts of what they were, was river shiner fry. They appeared to be a narrow body,in place of a taller body like shad.Shiners lay&hatch in much cooler water.

Robby I’ve fished these cooling lakes.Braidwood opened March 1st.I believe LaSalle opened today the 15th.Water temps, very anywhere 10deg.to sometimes as much as 20deg.from discharge to suction.power demands weigh greatly on how the water warms.Wind will usually be present at one time or another on these bodies of water. My fav. would be Braidwood.Unique configuration of the resevoir, many chutes, fingers, depressions, defined points,LOTS of fishable water.Pick up a topo though fair amount of hazards to be aware of (spoil piles).Key in on defined cuts that lead around islands, you will find slight current their.Spinners, cranks, jigs, plastics, they all will work.Let the bass tell ya what they want.Shad is yhe main forage. Hope this will help
