A six inch auger is good auger for anything really. Ive watched friends pull nice bass and walleye out of six inch holes, and they also cut through the ice a lot easier then eight.

People throwing roughfish on shore bothers me but not even close to what a i saw today. Fishing a local lake i saw two carppies very nice size 11 and 10 inches frozen up on the ice. No one around them or anything. THe person may have forgot about them but i dont really know.

i was about three cranks off the bottom. Its like 15 feet in a bay. I couldnt really tell the structure because i dont have a flasher or and aqua view but ill find out on friday with cade. Ill get back to you on that one.

Like Cade said there are a lot of tracks back there and one main way to get out there from all the tracks. Its really easy to find.

I agree with Mike and Brett. It even though i dont eat sheepshead our carp our redhorse there are still fun to catch. They put up one heck of a fight. People below the damn in Neshonoc throw sheepshead and carp on the shore all the time. Its pretty disgusting.

Great Report Mike! At one of my favorite La Crosse Area holes theres about 14-15″ of ice. Its sopposed to warm up a little bit but not a whole lot.

ya, they usually there isnt a lot of current in the sloughs at all. But sometimes there can be an undertoe.

I usually look for a muddy bank with a some cover(sticks). Sometimes some weeds can be alright too. But mud banks are the main icon to look for becuase around here they hide in the banks a lot.

I mainly fish pool 8 and 9 but ill have my liscence for this summer so my stomping grounds will expand. But for cats i usually fish below the dam in neshonoc, dresbach, and genoa. But i fish a lot of sloughs too by mud banks.

Today sucked. WE cuaght prolly a total of ten fish. All sunnies and blue gills . It wasnt as good as the last two times i went out but, none the less it was still fun.

By the way i switched spots though. Nothing was bitting in the spot i was at when i caught the crappies. Not a thing . SO i moved to the other side and had decent luck. Theres about 6-8 inches ice depending on where you fish so thats a good thing.

nice to see you got some fish. The first sunny is a nice one. I got some fish today, not a whole lot but i got some none the less. I got one really nice perch though. IT was about 13 3/4. Ill send it to ya to post. I think i might go back to neshonoc tommorow. If you wanna come.
