I love my 220! It’s very accurate beyond 100 yards. Pair it up with federal 3” sabot slugs. That’s my best results with this gun.

Thanks for your input! I’m sure I’ll just order all the stuff pretty soon.

I’m still on the fence. I hope I can see them at the Sportshow in a couple of weeks. They’re quite the investment!

Thanks for the info biggill! I think my next step would be to call the dealer and see if the slight curve to the gunnel, rise curve, and figure out if I need a two piece system. My goal is to cover up the existing holes from my pipe rails. My motivation behind this is to get down riggers and be able to remove the base when not using them. I know very little about down riggers, so bare with me!

I bought one at the sports show, I was trying to decide between 12″ and a 14″ for my 620. The rep told to go 14″ and you can always lower the seat height. They’re sweet.

I’m calling BS. I’ve owned both, and hands down the motorguide is tighter positioned lock and a way faster head response, even wide open the head speed is way faster. Auto deploy is pretty cool..

It’s a Kipawa prop, I think it has a little more power with its pitch. I wanted a back up prop, so I thought I would give it a try. I like it for the current in the river. It’s not mind blowing but there’s a little more power.

Sorry about the upside down pics. I have no idea how the pics got flipped, I even tried to flip them to before choosing.

It can be done and I have done it myself. But it usually takes awhile because most kickers don’t put out a lot of amperage to charge the battery. So if you run it for a while especially at a higher rpm then lots of times that will charge the battery up enough to get the big motor cranked again. Sometimes it’s easier and quicker to use a set of jumper cables to jump the big motor.

I have done this before, most newer motors are very picky on how much voltage/amperage to turn over big motors. My locator ran my starter battery down, fired up the kicker ran it wide open for 20 minutes then the big motor started.

I was on Pepin last evening, very muddy water. Got one channel cat pulling crawlers with slow death hooks.

I’ve contacted pros in the past about selling some of their used rods.

On my 2007 620, I mounted my transducer on the steering wheel side of the transom. Never had an issue, I would strongly suggest not using a shoot through hull transducer. Sonar sensitivity will be compromised by, I’ve heard, 20-30 percent. My current boat, 12′ 620, came from the factory with a shoot thru hull transducer, I have it as a back up.

I’v heard the lead and long line is going with cranks! I know the pros will be down there starting, at least Saturday, practicing for the NWT Thursday/Friday. Keep an eye out for what those guys will be doing.

I think it all depends on what type of water you fish. If it’s mainly bigger water/bigger waves, I’d personally hold out for a 08 or newer hull 620. If your off the lake any time there’s 2 footers, any hull will work fine.

I’ve owned two rangers in the past 4 years. The first one was a 07 620 VS, the hull design was bad. I took waves over the front and it didn’t cut waves cornering very well at all. My only complaints of that boat. The one I have now is a 12′ 620 VS and the new hull design with a more pronounced keel is awesome. The cornering and riding on plain is way better than the 07′, hands down. And I have not yet taken a wave over the front yet, I have been in my identical boat on Erie last spring with six footers and it preformed great. I’ll have no problem buying another one!

I’m almost positive they lower the lake in the fall to compensate for the melt in the spring. I love fishing that lake in the summer!

ipilot- spot lock, track recording, way point saving
ipilot link – all that and connects to bird for storing more tracks and way points and gives you contour following.

power drive v2 – lose your footpedal
    terrova – keep footpedal

I use the I pilot every single time I’m on the water! I have the Terrova, and to fish two lines on the Mississippi. The foot controller is a must, set the speed and just steer with your foot while holding two rods.

Correction. It looks home made using rivets as the hangers. Here’s a picture.

That looks pretty cool! Looks like a project for me.
