After our AIS training next year, does this mean that a fine would be considered a willful violation? Double the fine, maybe? Is the DNR going to hold this certificate against you? This topic has my wheels turning.

My experience for walleyes in the Metro is limited to Pool 2 in the fall. But it is one of my favorite places to fish in the fall and ranks high on my list of favorite places/times of any during the year.

On P2, what works best for me are three things:

    1) Pitching plastics on jighead to wingdams
    2) Dragging jigs with plastic
    3) Trolling or pitching cranks

The dragging jig bite for me is a late fall technique. Mid-late November right until freeze up.

X2!! The only thing I would add is also try #5 and #7 flicker shads, scatter raps, and baits that are similar style.

I’m on my second Ranger 620, and I have never got water in any of my compartments. I can see where that issue would be very frustrating.

I would like to keep it under $250. But if two different rods are needed, I’m open to anything. What action would you go with for which presentation?

I have had one and my dad had one as well. They are notorious for fuel sending unit and intake gasket problems around the 100k mark. My 98 was my favorite truck still.

I personally think it is sad that people are avoiding Mille Lacs because of not being able to keep a fish. True the fishing has been slow at best but it will turn around.
Show your support for the local businesses’. They need it!
If the food is the number one priority then it is better to fish else-where.
Please do not take my rant personally Chasin, my apologies if it read as a criticism of you.

I hear ya! I’m a small business guy, I’m just after the better option for the bite. I can’t remember the last time I used a public landing on the Pond. I have my list of fav resorts to launch at.

FWIW, I live here and if I had the choice it would be another right now. I fully believe the bite will get better soon but it is slow now for most.

What is the water temp? I’m looking forward to the spinner bite up there.

Do you want to play catch/release or keep fish to eat? Depending on your answer I would think that should tell you where to go…RR

Good point.. I’m leaning towards Pepin.

I have called Minnkota before for a new battery cap for the I pilot remote. No questions asked and no charge, 3 days later it was in my mailbox. Great company!!
