Drove around the chain on Monday and saw no one fishing any lake except Browns, all walk outs on the NE corner. Didn’t even see any evidence anyone had been on the chain, ie; no ice shaving mounds. Some old atv tracks in the slush near shore.

Chubby I’m with you on this, that is why I only occasionally watch on TV or listen on the radio which is free to me because I refuse to give them any more than they deserve. My tax dollars are plenty.

if you regularly use the boat today and then park it over night 5amp is fine but use it hard this morn and then want it to go this afternoon better get the 10 amp and I also ? need for more than one charger, can get them with multiple banks and the battery that starts the motor should charge off the motor also mount it somewhere that you don’t pack all your gear tight to it, they don’t get excessively hot but do need some air, I always lift the cover over the batteries as they charge just for some ventilation just for peace of mind if nothing else.

Koronis is actually split by Meeker on the east side of the lake and Stearns the west half of the lake. There is a cnty park on the south shore that is owned and maintained by Meeker cnty but is actually in Stearns cnty. Between Koronis, Rice and Diamond I don’t fish anywhere else. Koronis also has an early afternoon bite that surprises alot of people as well as great largemouth fishing. There are several tournements there during the year.

that would be tough because the best my best bud, who is my wife would also have a say and she is a football fanatic as well as fisherperson. But then she is scared to death of bears so superbowl would be the choice, but then aren’t most superbowl games held where it is warm and near the coast, could work out anyway.

no crickets are not invasives, what is being suggested is there are more things transporting the invasives around than boats but the boats are the only thing that can be targeted, as far as living in MN and dealing with these proposed laws there a number of states to our west that have these and many more that are even more strict.

Read the attatchment and then printed it off. Going to check my setup out now and make some changes, hadn’t really gave it much thought before, but now? Great article very clear explanation.

I thought that it would be great to put braid (power pro) on the rod set ups for my wife thinking that she then would be able to feel bites easier, big mistake, she could not keep the line tight enough on the spool to keep it from digging into itself and worse yet the line cut into the pick up pins. Have fixed the reels and put flourocarbon on.

The thing that I use the baitcaster for is heavy lures, heavy lines and need for extra force in heavy cover. When finnessing I will always use my spinning rig.

Are there big differences between the two lakes? I’ve been to Big Stone, lots of gravel, white bass, mud, white bass, water running in off bank, walleye and white bass. Lots of people, Is Travers quieter and does it have the bass, they’re fun when things are slow but I like walleye. I have heard horror stories about rocks on Traverse and do you stay in Ortonville or somewhere else or drive out for the day?

I believe they are called “flatraps”, the original minnow rap flattened down the sides, supposed to give a wider wobble at slower speeds and be able to stay shallow, I’m looking for them also, I do a lot of after dark shallow water fishing to avoid the crowds during the daylight hours.
