QB, Nice fish! That is my next trip!! Last week was my first trip to the Angle and it was AWSOME. The walleyes were all over jigg’n raps. A friend and I caught close to 40 eyes one day. The biggest eye was 24″ and I managed to ice a mid 30″ pike on my (TB) jig stick w/6lb line. Next trip we would like to slide over the border and give it a try for some slabs. Thanks for the report

Got to love them crappies. Hey Chris, I picked up a sled for ice use and always looking for ideas. Mabey you can do a “on ice” on how your sled is set up…? Looking fwd to watching more videos, keep them comming!

I’ve had others request a small clip running through the ins and outs of my main guide sled as well. I will definately take the time to do this for guys looking to pimp out an ice fishing sled!!! I’ve been extremely happy with this set up thus far. It carries (2) 5 gallon pails of which one carries my Frabill round tip ups and the other carries fish/bait. It carries 2 Otter hard sided rod cases and this year my camera gear/tripod and Frabill Big Scooper all on the back of the sled. I have a built in compartment on the Polaris edge that I use for tackle, and misc hook removal, gloves, hats, lunch….. On the front of the sled it carries my Strikemaster Solo 154 and my Marcum LX7. I have my H20C mounted at dash on a simple Ram mount. The whole front hinges forward for easy access to underside of hood. There are a couple things I’m going to add next year, but all in all I LOVE IT!! Keep your eyes open for this clip I’ll try do it sooner rather than later per your request.

Thanks chris that would be great!!

Falcon “Grass Rod” 6’10” I have found out if you get to long of a rod it’s hard to pitch when you find your self in tight places.

I had a Model 30 and lugged it around for yrs (I grew up in the town Jiffy is made). For the past 10+ yrs Strikemaster is what I have been using (mag 200 8 1/4″). I also picked up a used Solo mag 10 1/4″ for a back up auger, drilled holes with it for the first time this past wkend and no issues. I think the 30 (10″ auger) may “hog” more ice, but it is just so heavy compared to the Solo I picked up. I don’t think you could go wrong with the Lite or the Lazer Mag.

Cold is coming to the upper midwest in a big way, and I’m feeling like it’s early December all over again! Who’s hitting the ice this weekend?

    Joel

I can’t wait for the weekend, already making plans to be on the ice with a few friends!

MN/WI boundary waters: “Regs may differ between states. You must obey the regs of the state in which you are fishing.” from WI fishing regs pamphlet (pg.60).

I have fished in my friend’s Eskimo in the past it worked just fine and he has had that shack for some time. He ended up putting a new tub/sled on last season, so I would put some runners on the bottom. I also have a friend w/a 2 man Otter, another w/a 2 man Frabill and I fish out of a 2 man Trap. I fished out of them all and think your buddy would be happy w/the Eskimo.

    Stratos,

I have one and 2 friends do also. One friend has had his pack well over 10 yrs. and mine is not to far behind. It will hold 8 B/D with the dividers in and 4 with them out (I carry 4 B/D in mine when I use it). Made very well, it’s a good product. The best part of the pack, no mess of tangled t/ups when seting them out and pick up. Worth the money, enjoy!

Chiefs were the better team today. Bring on the Bears, 14-1 after that game!
