From the ND Game and Fish website:

Deer Bow Season – A bow must be pulled, held, and released by hand. Any release aid may be used providing it is hand operated, the shooter supports the draw weight of the bow, and the release is not attached to any part of the bow other than at the bowstring. A compound bow used for hunting deer must have at least 35 pounds of draw at 28 inches or less draw length. Recurve and long bows used for hunting deer must have at least 35 pounds of draw at 28 inches. Arrows must be at least 24 inches long, tipped with a metal broadhead, with at least two sharp cutting edges, and have a cutting diameter of at least 3/4 inch (i.e., not able to pass through a 3/4 inch ring). It is illegal to hunt big game with barbed arrows. Broadheads with mechanical or retractable blades not manufactured to stay open are legal. Telescopic sights, range finding devices, battery-powered or electronically lighted sights or other electronic devices attached to the bow, or the arrow, are not permitted . Handheld range finding devices are legal. Arrows capable of causing damage or injury in excess of that inflicted by the cutting edges of the broadhead are prohibited (e.g., explosive arrow points, arrows tipped with drugs or chemicals, and pneumatic or hydraulic shafts are illegal). No firearms, except handguns, may be in the hunter’s possession while hunting with a deer bow license. However, handguns may not be used in any manner to assist in the harvest of a deer with an archery license.

I’ll be in a stand that I put in a wooded gully that divides two huge cornfields on rolling hills. Picturesque and hopefully very productive. I have high hopes!

Sorry, but I have no idea where. This accompanied the pictures in the email I received:

Stopped at Big Boys in Cedar Springs for breakfast Sunday
morning, Oct 14th, these deer were there, with a crowd of people around. They were taken from a ranch near Howard City, the guy who shot the white deer, not sure if it is a true albino, is going to have a full body mount done. They were from Troy, MI.

Brian, I grew up just north of Wichita. There are lots of areas to go for cats down there. Go north on 75 to John Redmond Reservoir.

James, does this mean we need to broaden our horizons and add a gator hunting forum?

Good luck today, Tony. We’ll be anxiously awaiting a green score and whether or not it makes Boone.

Which part of Leb do you get to hunt, east or west of Johnny Cake Ridge Road?

My Chiefs suck this year. The fact that you got beat by them is nothing short of shameful. I’ll take the win, though, however infrequent they may be this season. We happen to be in that “we’re horrible because we’re rebuilding” phase also. Of course it has nothing to do with the fact that we have one of the best RB’s and one of the best TE’s and, um, that would be about it. By the way, we’re at San Diego next Sunday, ’nuff said.

More times than not, it’s a blessing in disguise. Perfect opportunity for you to better yourself and your life. Newfound freedom is a wonderful thing. Pick one of the upper midwest’s fantastic fisheries and take a trip there. Bowhunting’s coming soon, grab the stick and string. Pretty soon your self-confidence will be stronger than ever and you can move on to enjoying life. Take care.

Sorry to hear of your loss. It has to be quite shocking to have it happen so quickly, two hits in one day. Take care and know that you and your family are in my prayers.

    James, just remember one phrase:

“If the glove don’t fit, you must acquit.”

Worked for OJ. If he gets rich(again) off this nonsense, I swear I’m going to puke.

I think he’s just wrong in general. What’s he trying to prove by doing this stunt? That he’s honestly as dumb as everyone already thinks he is? Moron…

Oh geez, here we go…can you say “FULL WEEK IN KANSAS AT THE END OF NOVEMBER?!?!”, ’cause that’s where I’ll be! It’s okay if you other teams can’t say it though, because all you’ll need to be able to say is “OUCH” . Katrina ain’t got jack on me, Hurricane Mark will be taking Team 11 TO THE TOP! Good luck, ladies….

Don’t hate me ’cause you ain’t me!
