It was a trip of a lifetime. I got to fish with my college best friend; something I had not been able to do for 30 years. And the scenery was incredible.
My goal was to catch a perch over 2 pounds. Well I caught 3. My largest was 16 inches and 2.22 pounds.
Our greatest success came on flats adjacent to the river channel in about 32 feet. My best bait was a perch colored Tingler spoon, gold back, and tipped with waxies. Largest fish came on a perch colored #3 jigging rap.
I was there for 5 days (4 days of fishing). I only caught 40 perch, but average size was over 12 inches. I even got skunked on one day!! Great trip.

I normally wear a medium to large in jackets and swearshirts. I ordered a large and it is “roomy” on me. It’s not too big, but I could wear a sweatshirt under it if necessary.

I ordered 2 from Gander Mtn and just got them yesterday. Very similar to the liner of the Climate (which I have too). I would say the “hoody” is a little thicker/heavier than the liner and it obviously has a “hood” too. I am glad that I ordered 2. You can never have too many of these and I do like the quality of the Striker products.

I purchased it from Pro Fishing Supply in Waconia,MN. I got a decent deal on it, plus I had some “expiring” points on a c.c. to make it more than 1/3 off the price. Unfortunately the camera face “crystallized” and needed to be sent in. I contacted Marcum right away and they are having me send in just the camera portion so they can replace it under warranty (why I wanted to know where the serial number was). I did notice a tag on the camera cord with a number on it, not knowing if that was the serial number? So when I sent the camera in, I included a copy of my receipt. Unfortunately Marcum has informed me they won’t have replacement cameras for a while. I was able to use the flasher part of the LX9 and totally love it.

I see the so-called raised rectangle on the back of the unit, but there is no sticker indicating a serial number. I think I need to contact Marcum. Thanks everyone.

Nope. I even looked behind the rubber panel where the micro sd card goes and where the rca plug-in is. I just can’t locate it.

Thanks Randy. Now I just have to wait until for it to arrive. Kinda like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. Lots of ice fishing season left.

Here is my lean mean hunting machine. A German Short haired pointer. He is my first hunting dog I have had and I must say he is one of the best I have hunted with. In this pic he was holding point on one of his first in winter and also some practice at a game farm 2 weeks ago.

Sitting on a fresh cut logging road. Thick pines to the west. Crop to the south and east. Smaller pines to the North

When using scent drags in the fall for the rut when do you put them out? the night before the day you hunt and do you sit on it all day and redo it in the morning or next time you hunt or if it don’t work the first time don’t try it again?

Do using a cross bow people don’t like even though they are louder heavier, pain to reload, and big and bulkier then a now a day compound bow? Just because people can have the loaded while in tree stand and held to the shoulder like a gun people don’t like them? So lets go back to sticks and strings as all you can use because compound bows are not even close to the to the Traditional ones that used to be used.

I know i could put them on public land but i am not one to hunt public land. and would much rather release them on private. And your right most dont make it. But there are some that do every year have young ones in the spring.

I purchased 4 Eagle Claw reels this year and added 2 Black Betty 6061 models. I have not used a spinning reel this year. I love the inlines and don’t see myself going back. I have put countless crappies on the ice with these. I have added a shanty full of perch from 37 feet of water. I followed that up with a few ciscos (not from shallow water) and just got back from Green Bay where they handled the whitefish without issue. I have paired the reels with TB Quiversticks, Sweethearts, and Power Noodles. I have not tangled with, but witnessed my buddy with a 30+ northern and no problems with that. They are great reels and if anyone doesn’t want theirs, I will take them off your hands. I can always use back up reels.

I would be interested if anyone wants to get rid of their 6061 at a fair price. I already have two, but am looking for more. Let me know. Thanks.
