I believe the guy fishing with me scratched it on a cast with his hook.

Like I said, feel the label usually you can feel the caps if it has them. If not then I would say there no access. It may be strange to make them like that but that’s how some of them are

You were right, thanks! I’ll make sure not to buy one like this again, the caps are a pain to get out.

All mine have a sticker like that on top of counter sunk vent caps. It says in text on the sticker that you have to pull off the sticker to check the water. Reminds me that I need to check the batteries!

Interesting.. mine doesn’t say anything about removing the sticker or needing to check water level. It does say “do not open battery”.

Would those holes on each end be considered vents? Does that tell me anything? If you are supposed to pry up that whole end of the battery to add water they sure didn’t make it obvious.

feel the battery where the label is. does it feel like there is a cover under the label?

I don’t think so, seems pretty smooth. That would also be really strange to make it like that.

I bought the Eskimo 650XD from marine general in Duluth, cheaper than anywhere around including reeds. Also I ordered it on a monday and had it on tuesday, didn’t even have a tracking number in my email before it showed up at my place. The no trip door is a huge selling point for me with kids and I plan to use it elk hunting.

I did see they have it for $499.99, so about $30 cheaper than most. Their website and every other website says out of stock though.

If that is USD, that is $300+ over priced. I saw a few of those when I was searching.

For Reeds, did you order off their site or call and they happened to have one? I tried ordering the eskimo 650 from Joe’s sporting goods since it showed available on their website, but got an email the next morning that they didn’t have any.

Actually looks like the Otter resort is completely out of stock everywhere also.

I wonder if there will be any deals this spring like usual or if because of the high demand there just wont be anything left. I never pay full price, so would like to wait for a sale.

T-H Marine makes a two way boat alarm. Couple reviews on tackle warehouse are not very good, one suggested a motorcycle alarm instead.. just something to look into maybe.

Looks good. I struggled with figuring out how to mount my drill and nils auger. I didn’t want the drill just hanging off the side like most guys had it, and didn’t want to have to take it off the auger every time I moved spots. Ended up buying the clam auger mounts and a clam drill plate. Its super secure, but I prefer to just use the more basic drill adapters like the ice master, so may have to come up with something like what you built. I think I just way overthought it when I was working on it.

Palomar knot works great for me. I use 2lb. fluoro on all of my ice fishing rods for panfish and all the way up to 20lb. for bass fishing. I slide the loops up the main line a bit and try to pull them tight at same time. Can’t remember the last time I broke off.. knock on wood.

Trade it in and get a longer box whistling

Ok, honestly I might be in the same situation because I just went from a 6’6″ box in a Chevy ext. Cab, to a 1st gen double(crew) cab tundra. Hoping I’ll be alright because the tundra has a 6’2″ bed, unlike the newer crew cabs which only come with a 5’6″ bed.

Next truck I get will have 6’6″ box again minimum. I didn’t think there were a lot of used crew cabs half tons with 6.5 box out there, but I’ve seen quite a few Ford’s lately.

I have had the high velocity (blue) for about 8 years now and use either the clam plate with an adapter or the ice master adapter. My friend had the orange one and when the ice got really thick a few years ago he was almost bottoming out that plate on the ice, so that’s something to consider.

I’m trying to sell my truck right now and almost 100% of the inquires have been fake. The funny thing about this one was they actually had a little picture of a guy with a hard hat on. Where the heck do all these scammers come from?

“Hello, thx for getting back to me, i’m Mike, i’m an oil and gas rotary drill operator and currently offshore…so i won’t be able to come for the inspection due to the nature of my work.i’d appreciate if you email me with more closeup pics for a better look since i won’t be be able to see this in person, but i have a mover who is gonna come to your location only after payment has been made and cleared, so i’ve chosen to have this done via paypal as it’s the easiest and safest way to pay online, i have a few questions for you below and i want you to be honest with me

    where are you currently located?
    what’s its present condition?
    hope no issues?
    are you the first owner?
    why are you selling it?
since when have you been using it?
    what’s your firm price?
    you got a paypal acct?

do get back to me asap. thx.”

Milwaukee M18 fuel and a nils high velocity hand auger is what I have been using for the last couple seasons and it’s been flawless. Planning on getting an 8″ at some point, just have a 6″ now since I mostly panfish.

I also have an awesome drill now for home repair and projects, so basically saved myself hundreds of dollars by having something that can do both.

I don’t use mine a lot, but have had out on some really cold mornings fishing tournaments and always started great. I think the biggest factor is the guy who I bought it from had the carbs cleaned/rebuilt before I bought it, so it’s not struggling to start. Also, I use ethanol free gas which I hope also keeps those carbs cleaner and running smoother.

No shed or garage storage would be really tough. I leave the truck outside in the driveway and keep my atv inside the garage when I have it at our townhouse. We’ve been looking for a house for well over a year now and one of my biggest requirements is a big garage or room to build a second one.
