The only time I’ve actually had an issue is when a bunch of water from drilling holes comes up. I usually put snow on it or let it freeze if it does before setting up the pop up. Other than that a little tug and it lets loose no problem.

I’ve done the pellet gun thing before with tip ups. Hilarious!
When someone leaves the house to use the facilities, we unspin the drag on the reel so the next fish they set the hook on just ends up peeling line off the reel and typically ends up in the pole being thrown. pretty funny.

I’m hearing most roads are closed for the season now with this storm..? Adrians was out 14 miles i think and they are only saying they’ll open up to 5 miles now. With the inconsisant reports and snow, sounds like it’s time to switch gears to open water.
