Thoughts and prayers Randy . I’ve been through this twice , once a long time ago when I was 15 , and didn’t handle it so well , and again many years later with a better understanding but still very hard . Hang in there

Repeat a lie enough times people believe it , its a proven tactic . His mistake was he put in writing he was a low life pos and then admitted to it . Those who helped him should also be prosecuted

Are lake district regulations even enforceable ? Are they state or dnr regulations or something local land owners would like to see ?

Saw my first wake boat on pool 8 by Stoddard last weekend , it was out there both saturday and sunday , blaring music and making non stop waves . To their credit , they stayed in the main channel , and was mostly during midday. Honestly, the cabin cruisers , tuna boats , on the river cause more damage and disruption with their wake than these boats do .

Not an <strong class=”ido-tag-strong”>ice fishing trip , but I have a week long trip planned for January fishing the Mississippi river delta in Venice LA . My <em class=”ido-tag-em”>ice fishing gear might mot leave the rafters again this year

Curious in this – have seen this area gain a lot of attention last couple years . You pull your own boat down there or go guided ? From what I understand you can go in the ocean and catch salt water fish as well as stay up in the river and catch big blue cats . What do you target ? Is there a lot of boat traffic ?

. First time for me , but I booked with Winchester Adventures for 4 days . We will be fishing multiple salt water species as well as big blues and aligator gar

They should have just doubled down on enforcement of existing laws (own your wake, being responsible for what it does to other boats, shoreline, infrastructure, etc) which clearly cover the issues of boating all over in high water, instead of declaring some unenforced No Wake area.

Rarely do more laws, ordinances, etc equate to changed behavior.

This 1000% we have enough laws and rules.(this goes for lots and lots of things) Enforce the ones on the books already and things will be fine. Bureaucrats can’t fathom that though.

. Agreed , specifically here on the Mississippi in the la crosse area the cabin cruisers ( tuna boats ) cruise up and down the river creating more wake than anything else on the water . Wake boats couldn’t possibly do any more damage .

I’ve always had dogs in the boat . Don’t specifically train them , but watch them closely at first to see if they’re “ jumpers “ . They always settle in and become great boat mates. If you musky fish , be careful on the back cast. I fish the river mostly, take them to shore and let them have fun frequently. Expect some sand to clean up , but those dogs are happy !

Nice repower, that Suzuki will be an excellent outboard for decades.

Just curious, what’s the wait time for outboards these days? Did this have to be factory ordered or was it in inventory at a distributor?

If things are back to normal as far as lead times, repowering makes a lot of sense.

Sheldon could probably answer this better , but from the time I decided to do it he had it within a week

I’m starting my third season with mine and so far have had only 1 issue . For some reason it lost its marbles and the lower unit wouldn’t turn to the correct position to stow , but it was an easy fix . You only have to turn it on once , it will shutdown itself off , I dont use the phone app , only the remote . If you fish the river you will like the jog feature , especially for fishing wing dams . Easy to mount and pair with the motor . Good luck

We better all hope this Peacock game is a massive failure, if not then we all know where this is going in the future.

x2 I pay too much for cable the way it is , it will be a cold day in hell before I fork over any more money to watch a game thats basically pay per view , I dont care who’s playing

Just keep it to a 3 score deficit until the 4th quarter, Joe Barry will dial up his magic and make it a close game . After all , he made Danny DeVito and Baker Mayfeild look like future gall of famers

We’ve been taking advantage of this warm spell . Have fished pools 4 and 9 the last few days , jigs and plastics.

I use a simple dry brine . 1 tbsp mortons tenderquick , 1 tbsp brown sugar per lb of meat . Rub it on all sides and refrigerate for a week or so , turning daily . Smoke at 180 or 200 til int temp at 160. This works on meat abut 2 or 3 inches thick , for whole quarters I’d probably use a wet brine and maybe inject also

Waltons will have everything you need . Never been disappointed with their seasonings . As stated earlier, Curlys is good also , can buy kits that have premixed seasoning, cure , and casings . I like their pepper sticks , everything else I buy from Waltons

I use 4# nanobraid for pitching light jigs for panfish . The problem I had with other brands was the jigs are so light , the line doesn’t respool tight enough when retrieving, and eventually you’ll end up with a birds nest when you cast . Haven’t had that problem with nanobraid . For bobber fishing I just use mono

On my recent trip to Canada… a guy did shore lunch cajun and original mixed 50/50… kind of a northern redneck flavor !! (not a fan of hot) I loved it !!! might even go to 40% cajun and 60% regular to tone down a little more. waytogo

. I’ve done this also and relly liked it

Brewer fan here , but as usual nothing to talk smack about . Mediocre at best . If it wasn’t for Bob Ueker on the radio , not many reasons to tune in . 2 irrelevant teams
