Rumchatta!!!
Thanks everyone! So many people here that have grown close, became awesome friends, and share so much. But I need to repeat this. Its not what I did, its what WE did. A bridge doesn’t carry a load without the solid foundation and all the supporting members.
I wasn’t attempting to diminish anyone’s input, however, you were the one taking the brunt of it. You were the one on the front lines everyday. You were the one changing the diapers and cleaning up the messes and keeping him from burning down the house…and…and…and… Most can’t even imagine what you went through. I was in elementary school when my grandpa went through the same stuff, and fully remember my mom and her brothers and sisters taking turns every night watching him for over a year. It was a feat with 5 people to take turns let alone one person.
Not that it was ever low, however my respect for you and your family and anyone else involved in your parents’ care has skyrocketed. I hope you can take care of yourself now and give yourself the break and self care that you deserve.
So sorry for your loss Randy.
I imagine you feel about 12 inches taller right now. Partially from the loss of the tremendous weight on your shoulders the last few years, but more so you should feel incredibly proud of what you did. Stand tall today Randy, you deserve it.
I purchased a used kit and the drill and skill saw are questionable at best. I realize they’re used, but after this auger drill failing as well I’m getting a bit Leary of the mighty Milwaukee reputation.
I’ve got a couple dozen Milwaukee tools, with no issues besides from my own stupidity. That drill should have a 5 year warranty. Go onto Milwaukee’s Eservice webpage and fill out the info to see if it still has the warranty. Doesn’t matter if you don’t have the original receipt, they will go off of the original build date then.
People upgrade, but I’d also assume those 36’s don’t sell as fast as the 12 and 24’s. The only ones wanting 36 is people with boats built for that many batteries.

Don’t tell the tweakers about that. That sounds like something that would be right up their alleyUntil they realized how much work it is. Then they’d go right back to stealing Amazon packages.
Being they mainly produce cones in the top 1/3 of the tree, they’ll quickly figure out cutting them down is easiest.

Next weeks Star Trib headline “Thousands of Black Spruce cut down in National Forest to collect pine cones”
Check Amazon as well. There are a ton of them.
However you may want to look into a rubber latch like this. I’ve got a couple on my boat, and they work well and seem less clumsy than what you originally had on there.
They are considering swapping it to a bus line.
But here’s some stats
“In 2019, the Northstar Line carried 767,768 passengers and operated seven days a week. After COVID-19 hit, Metro Transit cut back Northstar’s daily round trips and eliminated weekend service. Annual ridership plummeted to 50,433 in 2021. As Northstar gradually added trips, that number had nearly doubled to 97,265 by 2023”

I’ve made my own in the past using Humminbird Contour Elite when I couldn’t find a good paper map. Zoom in tight to get the details and keep the zoom level the same throughout the process. Screenshot, move, screenshot, move, etc. then in Photoshop stitch everything together. Works well, however it was very tedious. This map took a while. (Like a month of pecking away at it here and there in my off times) You can see the full zoomed out original image as well as a tight screenshot from my phone.
May want to see what you can get these for.

I’ve got some on my mom’s water heater that are like 15 years old. Had to use them because I couldn’t get the valves shut off fully to solder and this was a last resort at 10pm before all the stores closed. No issues with them whatsoever.
Do not believe everything you read on X.
I’ll believe the people pushing for audits before I believe the ones screaming about audits being unconstitutional.
I think DOGE should focus on Musk’s cash cow, aka the US government contracts.
Now, back on topic.
Go ahead and look, it’s all posted on the internet for you to see. Unlike many of USAID’s transactions that had been hidden from public view until now.
**edit oops see it was posted while I was grabbing it**
Here’s the article copy paste.
FORESTVILLE TOWNSHIP, Minn. — Wolves are rarely seen in the southern part of Minnesota, but a Spring Valley man has been cited for shooting and killing a gray wolf in southern Forestville Township in Fillmore County.
According to a Jan. 11, 2025, citation issued by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Lucas Dean Heusinkveld, 21, of Spring Valley, Minnesota, shot and killed a gray wolf while out hunting coyotes.
DNR spokesman Joe Albert said the incident, in which a female wolf was shot and killed, is under investigation.
In the meantime, the DNR has taken possession of the wolf carcass.
According to the DNR, as of Feb. 10, 2022, gray wolves are once again a federally protected threatened species, and under current federal guidelines, wolves may only be taken in defense of human life.
That said, the DNR’s own handbook on hunting and trapping regulations notes, “Wolves have been mistakenly shot outside Minnesota’s primary wolf range because hunters thought they were coyotes. Wolves were once restricted to the northern part of Minnesota, but they have expanded their range and could show up in any part of the state.”
The same guidebook notes that adult gray wolves are about twice as tall and can be three times the weight of adult coyotes, but the animals have similar shapes and coloring.
Still, the hunting and trapping regulations state, “Shooting a wolf because you think it is a coyote is illegal and punishable by Minnesota game and fish laws.”
The DNR estimated in 2021 that there were roughly 2,770 wolves in Minnesota.
Coyotes are legal to hunt year-round, Albert added.
“Coyotes are considered unprotected mammals in Minnesota,” he said. “The season is continuous and there is no limit on the number that can be taken
Did the Thursday night thread go haywire ?
Not that I saw, was actually pretty chill. Seen worse threads about trucks.
I just ignore anybody denying the positive direction things are finally going including the full replacement of the previous management staff.
The same way those same people ignored the obvious negative direction our previous ’Houseplant in Chief’ had us going.

e is waste, cut it. But not everything is a wasteful program. Spacex has some of the smallest contracts in government. Why? Because Elon looks for waste in every single part of his businesses and removes it. Why do you think it only costs millions to send a SpaceElon has more than $20B in contracts with NASA, not small potatoes.
And how many missions to space has Elon done for the government compared to everyone else? That’s the point. 1 mission costing 5 billion or 1000 missions costing 20 billion. What’s a better ROI?

When will NASA funding be reduced and subsequent contracts with SpaceX be cut?great question. Musk has billions in contracts with the federal government. Will any of those be trimmed? I’d bet not. Anyone want to take the other side of that wager?
We want to talk about corruption and wasteful spending, it needs to be done on both sides of the aisle so to speak. Reading up on Elon’s conflicts of interest is quite alarming and eye opening.
If there is waste, cut it. But not everything is a wasteful program. Spacex has some of the smallest contracts in that part government. Why? Because Elon looks for waste in every single part of his businesses and removes it. Why do you think it only costs millions to send a Spacex rocket to space but billions to send a NASA rocket to space?
Agreed. Trump ruling by executive decree is a losing approach. He loses nearly every time he he ends up in court, be it election challenges, executive order challenges or civil suits. Getting Congress aligned with his agenda is a troublesome approach but it is the legal and appropriate way to do business.
And before you know it you’ve spent 4 years and $100million on lawyers, investigations, slow walks, and whatever else to cut a program that was wasting $25million. That is part of the corruption that makes Washington work. Everyone is getting a piece of the pie.
It’s time to be adults, pull the bandaid off and let the pieces fall where they fall. If half of Washington is out of a job by the end of this – so be it.
Take a look at the real estate around Washington, there is a reason it has some of the highest home prices in the nation. And it’s not because the IRS and Dept of education is a good paying job.
As long as someone is spending someone else’s money there will always be the drunkin sailor syndrome.
It just human nature.
Yes there will always be some, but If you allow a free-for-all you get a free-for-all. This is a management problem however and that can be reduced.
But allowing money to swap hands at the blink of an eye and doing it 100 times to hide a transaction is one of the biggest issues we are seeing right now.
On the bold, but it can be. We have seen what happened on social media the last many years with certain topics, people, etc all being suppressed so if certainly can be manipulated.
100% we need to identify all cases of fraud and yes, it will be all sides, but only one is currently whining about it.
If an NGO is complaining about not getting government funding then, get this, they are NOT an NGO.
Anything can be, but if it’s just mapping out transactions and posting everything to the internet it’s a very high likelihood it can’t ignore things. Yes there are bad actors that can remove stuff but this is a team of DC outsiders that shouldn’t have any DC/government influence or know what to look for/hide/slow walk in order to hide. That is what made DC work in the past, these bureaucrats knew exactly what to do when stuff hit their desk in order to hide things.
No, I just expect our taxes to be used in a rational way that benefits the American people.
Exactly 1000000%!!!
Not surprisingly this Federal Judge’s wife is involved with USAID. Conflict of interest much?!
The entire makeup of the swamp is one big conflict of interest. That’s what makes it work so well for them.
For all this that argue this can’t be done or shouldn’t be done, this is the fourth administration that has had a department like this.
Roosevelt, Reagan and even Al Gore created similar departments. Reagan’s Grace Commission is probably the closest to DOGE.
Fortunately we now have complex computer algorithms and a computer doesn’t focus on one side and ignore the other side. All info is being posted to the internet for all to see. Waste and fraud from all sides need to be stopped. And stuff has been so deeply hidden with money transfers after money transfer to different NGOs and programs that it was nearly impossible to decipher where money was going. Now with computers that can map stuff out in hours rather than days/weeks/months stuff is actually coming to light. And I love to see it.
