Have any of you guys who have switched to lithium in light aluminum boats had any problems in big water? I have a 1750 Rebel and I worry about losing that weight front and center with a fat guy plus a kicker motor hanging on the transom. Seems like the weight of those AGMs’ would help in this situation. Cutting through waves.

Flooding caused a train to derail by Lynxville this morning. 4.5 inches at my house last night and a little over 2 yesterday morning. Had a river flowing through my yard earlier now there’s rocks, logs, and various other items scattered about. Driveway is just about destroyed and can’t get anyone to fix it with all the other messes around here. Next year better be a drought

My first ipilot which was a 12 volt terrova worked great on my old boat . I bought a new boat last year with a new ipilot 24 volt terrova and although I won’t call it garbage it’s definitely not as good as the old one. I sold my old one to a friend and it works great on his little boat. It’ll probably be a few years before I upgrade but most likely it will be a motorguide since minn kota definitely screwed up the newer ipilots and refuses to do anything about these units people have spent thousands on.

Crankbaits and trolling it would be alright but wouldn’t use one for jigging or anything requiring sensitivity. They’re moderate action even slower then Ugly Stiks. Just picked one up for fishing channel cats with circle hooks and nothing else.

When the water is up I’ve done the best fishing 5 ft or less with little to no current with lipless cranks. Spots you’d expect to find largemouths and northern. Even hot sunny days they’re very often in two or three feet. That can change real quick when the river starts falling though.

I have an Optima that is going on 10 years and still going strong. They hold their charge for a long time too.

Unless Minn Kota makes drastic improvements I’ll never buy another one. Mine usually does ok as long as there’s a moderate current otherwise I’m doing it manually. Still wouldn’t want to go back to not having it though.

I’ve only been out twice at night for flatties and was skunked

You’re not the only one. My first night last week I caught a 27.5 inch walleye on a bluegill and the second night all I got was covered head to toe in mosquito bites.

BK do you have a lot of setline fisherman up there? Seems like everyone I talk to around here knows one who gives away mass amounts of flatheads caught on trotlines. Kinda grinds my gears mad

There ARE some reasons that somebody may want/need 6 walleyes. Believe it or not – there are a lot of people that really like and appreciate a fresh fish meal and do NOT like to (or are unable to) fish themselves.

Ever hear of a grocery store? Should be illegal to give game fish away

I fish further down river and I would like to see a slot limit and a reduced bag limit on walleye. No reason to keep 20 plus inchers other then a trophy to mount and definitely no reason any one person should be able to keep six of them. Not too concerned with sauger.

In my opinion fish hit plastic hard enough you don’t need a stinger. All I see it doing is messing up the action of your plastic. A stinger on a hair jig is a little more practical to me.

Almost had to do surgery on every fish today. Every fish inhaled a 3/8 jig and moxie. Glad there was only 1 hook

I’ve rented eight Uhauls in the past and never had any problems. Might be a little pricey depending on how long of a trip

Looks fun. How well do those things handle with all the snow on the ice?

Random issue here too. I just thump it on my hand a few times until it works.
Haven’t had to open it up yet.

    Always works for me

I mostly fish pool 9 and about the only time I’m fishing the dam is when everything downstream is frozen. Sure there’s plenty of fish up there but there’s a lot downstream too and very few other people. Sometimes it takes awhile to find them but it’s well worth the effort imo. There doesn’t seem to be as strong of a migration as pool 4 though. I’d guess because the temperature isn’t any different.

Down here on pool 9 I’ve been doing better in the cuts and sloughs. 8-10 ft 12 at the deepest dragging plastics. Anything deeper or in the main channel I’ve only caught sauger.

No problem keeping 25 channels but no reason to keep more then one flathead at a time.

Blocks don’t work better. Keeping 80 beers ice cold catfishing in August requires cubes in my experience.

Can’t wait to see the show! Sounds like a lot of walleye b.l.t.’s! Yum!

Should get a lot more time out of one battery at that level. I would invest in a good on board smart charger if you don’t have one.

What level was the motor set at? If it was at ten that’s about right. My 55lb Terrova lasts all day at five or six with an Optima but it goes down considerably at high levels. Think my old Powerdrive lasted three or four hours trolling at level five or six.

Rain would be nice. River is way down. A little more flow plus a little warmer water and I think the fish will go on a tear

“No, get your head out of the gutter. My wife didn’t catch me looking at THOSE sites. However she didn’t see me ordering up a new Hbird 999ci hd si either devil

Debated this one for the last couple weeks and finally broke down. Sat here too long tonight looking at fishing stuff. Since I can’t go out, well I guess the next best thing is to buy stuff. Once it gets here then it’s time to start figuring out how/where I’m going to mount stuff. Should I sell my 2 year old 597ci hd di? Will put some cash back in the pocket and may help out on space. Should I keep it so I can have a map or DI on one and then SI and 2D displaying on the other?

At least I’ve got a small project to keep my mind busy until open water is in full swing.

Thanks to JoeMX1825 and all the others who’ve been posting over in the Humminbird section. Great info that helped me make the plunge on a high dollar purchase.”

I’ve been there man. Bought my HDS 8 late at night after a few adult beverages
