Due to a whole lot of responses from folks it looks like I’m still in the MSRD Board business. Wood selections won’t be as wide as before when I had a good stock of a lot of woods, hardwood prices have gone through the roof and I’ve started making custom guitars but will work with folks that want more choices for their boards. In case you’re curious heres the start of the JM guitar world.

A couple shots of my birdseye maple
I love that pic of the Walleye staring at the camera Lance. Glad you like your boards.
Thanks Eyeguy for reminding me I’ve been lost is the woods. Nice to see fishing folks again, I hope to start getting out again, I now live about 5 miles from Beaver Lake in Arkansas.July 24, 2009 at 10:22 pm #792996Low post count person here.
Have had Lunds and Alumacraft, they’re both good, year by year all manufacturers change designs, that’s good, we all win. Aluminum boats, live forever, heard that on Garage Logic years ago.
Oh boy another post.
July 24, 2009 at 1:58 am #792716Had one on my old 1800 Fisherman, couldn’t ask for a better motor, and I pushed the he77 out of it. OK I abused the he77 out of it.
September 12, 2008 at 1:54 am #711117SH asked me to to post this over here.
My take is because he really care’s about the fishery and the fishermen.Just another reminder… Regardless of how you stand on the issue…. Please come on out and let the DNR what you think and fill out a response/suggestion form. Public meetings:
Clearwater Meeting: September 13, 2008 (3 p.m. – 5 p.m.) Clearwater City Hall, 605 County Road 75, Clearwater, MN.
Anoka Meeting: September 18, 2008 (7 p.m. – 9 p.m.) City Council Room, 2015 1st Ave N, Anoka, MN.August 25, 2008 at 5:34 pm #707623There’s another meeting tonight, 7:00 at the Champlin City Hall.
Champlin City Hall is located at 11955 Champlin Drive, Champlin, MN, 55316.This is really important IMHO to improve the fishing in this stretch of river, the Anoka stretch is not nearly as good as the fishing from the Crow on up, anybody that has enough experience with the whole CRD to St. Cloud sectiion will verify this. If you’re for it come, if you’re against it come.
August 6, 2007 at 2:52 pm #597369I’ve been running Mobil 1 in my F115 for 6 years, haven’t noticed a problem. Just changed oil so next time I’ll try Pet based, should be changing it again 1 more time this year.
July 31, 2007 at 11:33 pm #595870Having worn out 6/8 blades, 4/6 rivets and snapping a couple off this year, I’ld say yes. I gotta go and pick up a half dozen or so.
It’s this years #1 bait for me.July 15, 2007 at 6:26 pm #590416I just went there for the weigh in, spent the day lurking on the creek. My mouth sure dropped until I asked and the folks I talked to said 2 pounds off and shrugged their shoulders, either way it sure skews the results if you just look at the board. Wonder what the real “off by” numbers were?
July 12, 2007 at 12:20 pm #589394I bought mine in 2000, you can’t ask for a better motor, I did have a dirty fuel system problem but thats it, gets used every day from April until October, I’ld buy another in a blink if I had to.

I agree, I’ve had at least 3 times I would have been in the prop shop if I had aluminum. On the river I feel its a must have.
Aluminum=1 hit=trash, bad dings and missing chunks
Stainless= lots of small hits=fine, bad hits=get the hammerMy prop repair bill has gone way down in the 20 years I’ve been using SS props on the Upper Miss. NO. other way to go.
May 11, 2007 at 1:55 am #570236Love him or hate him Bill O’Rielly’s weekly column hits it on the head.
http://www.billoreilly.com/newslettercolumn?pid=21222May 11, 2007 at 1:18 am #570212Me, I don’t care, if I lose a fish, cast away at it, my lure isn’t there anymore and I’ld like to see you get it if I missed and it’ll bite again. I’m gonna cast at yours if it gets off your hook, sorry, I like to see everyone in the boat catch fish, but then I don’t compete with others in my boat. Well, maybe a buck or two now and then.
May 6, 2007 at 6:49 pm #568371Don’t tell anyone I recommended Home Depot but you may find some there, lots of wire.
February 18, 2007 at 9:12 pm #538497Where I am in Champlin it’s very much like a lake, after the spring run off the current in the middle of the river may be about 3 miles an hour, windy day on a lake without the wind, on the bank sides it’s like fishing a lake on a light breeze day. Above the Champlin/Anoka bridge last year it was much like a rocky stream, it could be all rapids this year if we don’t get more snow up north.
November 23, 2006 at 11:55 pm #502786You are more than welcome to sit on my deck and whack a few, just don’t spread it around.

October 2, 2006 at 1:26 pm #484595The Miss does not have a population to be considered a serious Muskie fishery. They are there but not in the numbers to count, more than any other place the Miss HAS to be CPR. Scary part is if the general public starts to think of it as Muskie water without catch and release, we may be kissin’ em good bye.
September 28, 2006 at 8:30 pm #483810Googleing it comes up with tons of sites, heres one
Freashwater Jellyfish they seem to kind of common, sort of.
September 12, 2006 at 11:39 pm #477977The local police is the hot tip. I did that with a bunch of questionable ammo a lot of years ago, made them happy I didn’t “Throw it”
