I agree with Tbro. Rodgers has played his entire career basically being handicapped by a combination of McCarthy, Thompson (RIP), and Capers. You can’t argue with the SBs that Brady has racked up so good on him but as far as QB talent goes there is nobody better than Rodgers. Greatest and best aren’t always the same thing.

Pretty much what Mike said. Their mouths are small so use smaller baits and make sure your hooks are sharp. Stocked trout are dumb (totally out of their element) so I’ve had them bite my swivel before and will sometimes fish a tungsten without even tipping it. That said I would bring waxies if you can. Fish 4-6 feet below the ice regardless of what depth you’re at.

Sorry, I came off as a prick in that prior post. That said Rosario is in no way a top 30 OF. He’s actually bottom 5 in many metrics and due to his contract situation and service time was just too expensive. If they could have found a trade partner they would have. Plus they have younger, cheaper talent at the corner OF positions. I like the guy and hope he finds a home somewhere, though. Fun and often maddening player to watch.

Yes it’s worth fishing but it gets a lot of pressure (go figure). Be careful of the aerated portion to the right of the dock access.

You think Rosario had trade value? He was due to make way more than he was worth. Simple as that. If he had trade value they would have traded him. He might be your favorite player but that doesn’t make his defense or plate discipline any better in the eyes of GMs around the league.

If you’re getting stone walled by location-based blackout restrictions why not just get a VPN? I paid something like $36 for 3 years and used it with MLB TV last summer without issue. The only caveat is that you have to watch via computer and hook it up to your TV via HDMI since phones and tablets are by definition location-based in their OS

My favorite is work, I build molds for a living and engineers question why stuff is so expensive. I asked them if they think we hold blueprints up to machine and it makes it? A few believe that?

Craig I work in injection molding. We recently had a customer ask if we could get color chips made in the exact custom mold finish that we’ll be using in our mold (not a SPI grade…very custom) so they could know exactly what the parts would look like. It’s a glass filled PBT in a custom color and part geometry and gate location(s) aren’t even known yet. Can’t explain manufacturing to a bunch of marketing goons

I’m with Dutch. NE was in trouble last year too (relatively speaking), but having Brady kept them afloat. They were already on a downward trend but their division has been so historically bad that it didn’t matter. Also take a look at what else TB added this year. They’re absolutely stacked!

That doesn’t mean that I’m saying Tom Brady isn’t great but IMO Belichick has been the biggest reason for their success. NE shouldn’t have tried to win 7 games this year; that’s the only evidence I can see against Belichick being a mastermind.

I”m assuming you’re asking me since there’s no such thing as “far from shore” on Courthouse. Yes, I fish almost exclusively in the middle of the lake since people seem to stack up along the shoreline and there’s a solid 6″+ of ice throughout. While there’s probably some truth to trout favoring downed trees or brush near shore, these farm stream trout have no idea what they’re doing in a mine pit and will wander aimlessly. I haven’t found any downside to fishing the middle of the lake and avoiding the crowd.

If you see a guy huffing down lung sandwiches and staring at a FL-8 come say hi! wave

I hit Quarry on both Saturday and Sunday. Didn’t fish long but caught a fish about every 15 minutes. I prefer Quarry just because it’s bigger so not as much of a zoo. They sure do taste good with some apple or pecan in the smoker.

I used to do a lot of homebrewing.

Pete once the world returns to normal if you ever wanna get together and talk Twins (no numbers allowed, I promise) I’d welcome some feedback on the home brews.

Always wanted to check out distilling too as a big gin and whiskey guy but haven’t ventured yet. The fw would definitely frown upon a new hobby that takes up more space

2020 was a career outlier for Bauer. I’m not saying he’s a bad pitcher by any means but he’s a career 3.90 ERA and will get you 5.2 IP per start with a 1.265 WHIP and walks almost 3.5 per 9. He gets some K’s at 9.7 K/9 so again I’m not saying he’s bad but certainly not as good as the $ he’s going to ask for.

There’s legitimate arguments to be made both ways in terms of how he could affect a clubhouse.

Do I want to see the Twins show willingness to spend on an ace? Absolutely. I just don’t think Bauer fits the bill and his aversion to multi-year deals means you had better be sure you’re going to be in the mix for the World Series.

The HT Ice Rigger is the same concept for like $18 and fewer parts to get lost. Just one guy’s opinion

The rubber floor mats are nice as already mentioned. Having previously played the constant game of “did I remember my head lamp/lantern and if so, does it have fresh batteries?” I’ll say that getting an integrated/permanently mounted hub light this year has been a nice upgrade.

Went out of the north end this weekend and measured 7-8″ of ice. Fished in 23-25 FOW and did ok. The bite was slow for most of the day but really turned on around sunset for a quick flurry of activity. Biggest fish was 20-1/2″ just shy of the slot. Most seemed to be 17-19″ with a few smaller ones mixed in. Absolutely gorgeous sunrises/sunsets as the fog burned off the ice and they trees along shore were covered in frost/snow.

It was a jigging rap bite Friday and Saturday but by Sunday they seemed to want set lines or smaller spoons.

I don’t know if they’ll win the division but I do think they’ll finally win a playoff game. It’s gotta happen eventually…right?

B-man wasn’t looking to rob your honey hole just curious as to the area overall. As a BWCA-junkie I’m interested is all and maybe can offer some tips if it’s an area I’ve been. Lemme know if you ever have BWCA/camping/winter camping questions and I’m happy to help. toast Have fun and I hope you catch fish!

Page 7 of the USDA Forest Service guide states:

When lakes are open, camp at designated sites using
    firegrates and latrines.

    Whenlakesarefrozen,camponice,inasheltered
bay, or in a natural forest opening. Locate camp at
least 200 feet from trails or summer campsites, and
out of sight of other groups

    Cool read. Thanks, Dutch!

I can’t get past the preview part without logging in or signing up.

FWIW a subscription to the Athletic is totally worth it. They’ve often got x% off deals, too.
