I have a 2011 1775/ 115 opti. So far its been great. Have had it on Pepin, Leech, and Rainy in some pretty good chops and she handled it pretty well. As far as the trolling motor when its windy, can be irritating. Kind of a light boat and can get pushed around, so now I just deploy a drift sock and that help a lot. Have the bunk trailer with no brakes. Love that trailer, boat, motor so far. Its not a Ranger but she works well for me on the river and even the big lakes. Good luck.

Just bought a utility box for cranks at Cabelas. Kind of spendy. Fits 28 #7 shad raps nicely. Will probably buy another one.

I purchased an EXO this spring and used it pretty much exclusively the first 5-6 times out. I really don’t have anything negative to say about it. After those 5-6 times out though, I have gone back to mostly using Shimano Stradic Ci4’s. I just feel the Ci4 is much smoother and if I’m going to spend $200 on a reel, the Shimano would be my first choice. That is my opinion. You probably wouldn’t be disappointed with an EXO.

I put my 1775 Lund Impact in the north landing yesterday and it wasnt bad. My buddy put his 1700 Fisherman in today and he had to go off to the side because the ramp was glare ice this morning. So maybe bring some sand with you. There was still ice on the south landing as of this morning.

I was always an Oakley guy myself but after a year they would be pretty scratched up. I was pretty hard on them. that being said, I purchased some Costas with the glass lens and a year later, nary a scratch and I wear them basically everyday. Spendy but worth every penny.

Chamber, your friend is correct. We would completely debone elk without gutting it and still would get all the meat. After we were done there would just be the skin, a pile of bones and the rib cage with the guts in side. I really dont see any advantages of doing this with deer though.

Today it was pink head/chart. green hair. But if the fall bite is anything like the spring bite, tomorrow will be a different color .

I have stayed at Red Door and they are very reasonable unless they raised their prices this year. We stayed at Gregory’s last weekend because The Door was booked. As far as fishing, excellent. We started off with 7′ and 9′ flouro leaders using crawlers and leeches. The 7 footers were definitely the ticket. Crawlers seemed to work better in the am, leeches in the afternoon. We caught quite a few keepers also. Good luck.

Went out of Hok-Si-La this morning. Water is dirty and there were a few logs floating. Other than that, not to much debris. And we even caught some walleyes and saugers.
