I like my lx7. One of the selling points for the bigger screen is using it in graph mode, I can walk away and I’m still able to see if anything is swimming through.
I had the 6 for about two weeks before I moved to the 7.

Boss while I agree with your statement for the most part. I’ve been used my rippin raps as a calling bait and seen it work. They are doing something right.
Not spoon fed, but small jig and waxie on the UL. Pretty darn fun.
I use my LX7 in shallow water with no issues. Spend plenty of time getting comfortable making changes to settings until it becomes second nature. It’s a powerful unit with endless possibilities if you know what you are doing.
2 strip lights mounted on the poles above. Two white LEDs mounted through the sled, and two UV lights mounted below each seat for glowing jigs.
These run off a 12v flasher style battery mounted in the sled.
Just sad to see a 7-10 yr old fish come out of the water for good. I never placed blame on you (fish police brutally victim)…either way, nice fish and it will look good on the wall.
Thank you. I was pleasantly surprised to find them in that lake/pond. I’ve been fishing there for years and have only caught bass.
Off the topic but …
@ icenutz..I would think $39 would be cheap for a scan diagnostic, I have a scanner for doing just that and it cost me $ 4,500 and a $1,000.00 every 2 years to update to current year.
You’re kidding right?? I can by a code scanner for $50 that sends the code right to my phone to check against a libraries of codes. The $50 unit will also clear codes, run stats while driving and show them on a map, and display optional gauges in digital format.
If this is a MN lake there are only two lakes that come to mind for perch and tullies. That’s Winnie and Mille Lacs. At 23″ I doubt those were tullies. They rarely get beyond 18″. Or you had a mix of tullies and whites.
You are correct on where I was fishing. We were on the north end of Mille lacs. I’m pretty good at estimating length, I called that bigger perch at 13 on the ice. When I got home and put it on a tape it was just a hair over 13in. So either I’m a liar or we were on a school of bigger fish in that lake. I myself was surprised when I saw the size of these fish coming through the ice.
The dnr stopped by (Only us and two other groups on the whole north end) so we were bound to get checked. He mentioned that one group about a mile to the east was targeting Tullibee, they weren’t catching them.
I catch them when we have a little gambling going on. Rule is you pay double the pot if you catch a whitefish. Seems that’s the only time I can catch one is when it costs me money
Haha I like the sound of that game. Although yesterday it would of been like Russian roulette. My jig would be 5ft off the bottom with nothing on the screen and then boom! A huge mark would rocket up slamming my jig with no way to avoid it.
Maybe some of those were White Fish? The Mn. state record Tullibee is around 20″ or maybe a hair more. Nice fish either way!! Sounds like it is time to fire up the smoker…
Given the lake I was fishing they are Tullibee. I wasn’t sure myself until I did a bit of research. Haha I guess I might of had a state record on the ice without knowing.
I could see how fishing for them would be fun for a family.

Just got this a few minutes ago.Nice! That fish looks surprised…deep water today?
Haha I laughed when I saw it’s expression. 25 fow.
I really like my hc40. After having my first hc40 fail I was unsure of my future with this unit. But after receiving great customer service from eskimo and a brand new unit shipped fast, I am a happy fisher.
I use mine about every other day, drill lots of holes in all conditions. No regrets about sticking with the hc40 for the long run.
Plano all weather case. Best investment for keeping rods safe.
I’ll add an in line fuse off the battery main after I get all the other gadgets added.
Alex – How many toggle switches can you get to work with that box?
I could probably fit another 2 switchs in this box. hindsight I should have thought about switch placement to utilize the box space more efficiently.
My UV lights and ‘running’ lights will be on two other switches.
And here is how the above head lights are mounted.
just went out to double check the current draw. This was the current @ 11.9vdc.
In one of my crappie lakes I’m still finding weeds in 17fow that are holding the fish.
The lake is two deep basins(60+ ft) with a saddle between the two at 40fow. I believe with the weeds still holding bait fish there is no need for the crappies to move out to the deeper water yet.
My much smaller and shallower crappie pond is the other way around. Max depth of 25 and no fish shallower than 17fow. All the bigger fish seem to be holding much higher above the school.

All said and done this setup draws about an amp.Alex,
Are you sure about that 1 amp draw? The image for the set of two lights says 6 watts, which would be .5 amps (It doesn’t say if that is per set of two or 6 watts each) The set of six round lights says 3 watts which would be .25 amps. (again does not say if total wattage is 3 watts or if that is 3 watts each.)
If each lamp draws the specified wattage, the total draw for the 5 installed round lamps and the two rectangular lamps would math out to 3.25 amps.
I like the apparent amount of output you are getting but question the actual total amp draw. Did you put a meter on it? Just curious.
I was an industrial controls technician for many years so I am somewhat knowledgeable with low voltage wiring.
I thought the same thing after I get it all wired up, I put my multi meter on, got a reading of 1.007Amps. I’ll admit I didn’t check for any in rush Current. That still wouldn’t make up for the numbers not adding up. Could be lies on the description, cheap China parts….
I’ll probably add a uv light for recharging my glow jigs and 2 more lights on the side where the tow rope is.
