Awesome, yup that’s it, a quick look at it this morning, I assumed it was a check valve, I feel a lot better running with out it now. Thank Eric! I know the resevoir is clean….. unlike my garage floor….

Well I put a nipple in line, and plan on checking the oil tank religiously until I get the part next week.

Actually last time I cooked SPAM, I cooked some bacon up before hand, and then just tossed the spam right in the same pan, I had people swear the didn’t like SPAM, totally astonished that they really enjoyed it, that and for the one time or so a year I eat SPAM, I try and get the low sodium version, that with the bacon fat, I think was key.

Random, factoid about me, I actually proposed to my wife wearing a SPAM shirt, to this day no other shirt I’ve ever owned solicited more comments that that shirt, EPIC, IMHO. Another factoid, just so happened to see the Spam mobile driving around Burnsville the day I got the ring and planned the engagement, my mother desperately tried to get me to flag them down and get their help in the proposal, I used some of my better judgement and decided against it.

Yup every once in awhile I get someone who comments on my boat only being on a single axle, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Bad enough to move around as is, I looked into a power dolly, if I ever bite the bullet and go bigger I’m including a motor operated dolly to assist moving the trailer, right from the get go.

Luckily I didn’t know such things before I bought it, and ended up with a single axle, at first I kind of regretted it, not any more.

Well it seems to make sense, a little, to me… Last time I was there to have some work done, they were sketchy IMHO when dealing with Minn kota and warranty, I ended up calling and talking to Minn Kota and it was no problem to get my motor covered, they however they made it seem like it major deal to deal with Minn Kota, and were suprised when I informed them I talked to Minn Kota and then My warranty work still cost me a $100, I can’t quite put my finger why exactly it just didn’t fully feel right, I could’ve maybe argued more about my case, but I just paid the money and went on with it.

I also long ago cracked the housing that holds the gears and steering stuff, I asked several places, them included, and everyone said I had to replace the whole gearbox, gears and all, Called Minn Kota, they sold me the housing, I did all the work myself, and it cost me like $20. I’ve also replaced boards for a fraction of the cost, not to knock these places, but there’s a lot of things you can do yourself. (replacing the shaft isn’t one in “my” book )

That being said the work was top notch. Overall I’d probably go back, but the thought lingers.

Honestly there isn’t a lot of work to do on the trolling motors that I don’t think most people couldn’t handle.

Well I for one don’t think that this is a keyboard problem for say, sounds like low memory, causing the problem, I would look at your running programs when this happens and your availabile ram, try closing some non essential programs when this happens and see if it gets better or not. I suspect it does get better, which in part is why pulling the battery or restarting the phone helps.

Secondly if you have word predictions on you can turn them off.

Thirdly I really like swift key key board, available on the market this far my favorite keyboard available.

I have a rooted custom rom on my phone it really helps manage memory better than the stock rom. Before hand I resorted to deleting lots of programs and keeping my phone as clean as possible with unnecessary apps, or download them use them and delete them again.

Best antenna i’ve used, hands down, no powered or amplified, outdoor safe, but I actually have just hung in the the window between the curtains and blinds works great, there are ones out there that have 2 and 4 times this antenna, but even in the south end of lakeville, and not very good line of sight, works awesome.

There are more expensive versions but I can’t see what if anything they are better at. I’d venture the guess a single would be fine, I’m not an expert but it may be possible to have too much antenna, but even so if you bought a 2 or 4 panel one I bet you could unhook them just as easy if you had issues.

Money wasn’t really a concern (within reason) when I bought this antenna, I’ve paid a lot more in the past, this is the best I’ve used.

Bass boat central had a really good boat restoration forum, and I suspect they still do,

I don’t go there anymore since he got banned lol only forum in over 10 years I’ve been on the Internet forums i’ve ever been banned from, not even a warning, I still don’t know what I did…. Heck the only only time I ever got a warning before (which was total [censored] was on fm, but they are a bunch of douche bags too, so it didn’t really bother me any.)

You can’t or won’t drill a couple holes? Mine is attached with a couple screws and some marine grade silicone. No problems going on six years.

Well if you can’t find a direct link into a fishing industry, ill bet you could find something that would give you experience that you could more easily move into the area field someday.

We got our butt kicked, we didn’t boat a single eye, We rigged a bunch of structure, we slip bobbered a bunch of areas, and we casted a lot of shallow areas that were holding some eyes, but we were not able to boat a fish. Our buddy caught a few, but no keepers. It was beautiful out on the water and still enjoyed the day off.

I always thought a tracked ATV, would be the best, I wouldn’t consider fishing ice iffy enough that I feel I’d need a sled. (Not that ice is ever really safe)
I’ve also heard of you get your ATV stuck you’re going to be really stuck.

Well…. It looks like we’re going to probably focus on slip bobbering, and a little Lindy rigging.

I guess short term I need a transducer for a old Lowrance LCX-18C. Does anyone know the part number for this?

Long term – Terrova w/Ipilot and Hbird w/SI and new Lakemast chip!

BOAT – Break Out Another Thousand (or two… )

    -J.

NOPE, that would be BOAM, not BOAT, Break out another Mortgage.

I have aspirations to add side scan and ipilot and a new sonar unit upfront, but get light headed when I start adding things up…

I’ll be going with the bird when I upgrade, I feel a bit let down by Lowrance, but even so bird makes a better product for my current needs.

MKA-21 is a much quieter and eye pleasing design. I normally am not a plastic parts guy but after the clanking and vibrating noises I got from my old trolling motor mount (MKA 32) I would not recommend the MKA 32.

Both will work, but the 16 is quiet and sleeker in my opinion.

I agree with this 100% never had any issues or problems, super quiet and best of all if I do take it off I don’t have to worry about some one getting scratched or injured on the mount. Plastic is the way to go imho, if you really intend to take it off, and still use the boat.

Fishing mycast weather could do it too, take pics estimate weight with length and fill in the weather conditions. Only downside is its a paid app but I think it’s worth it and I’m cheap.

Technology has come a long way, I do believe 50:1, with todays oil is perfectly acceptable in all conditions, aside from more pollution and increased cost of oil. If your motor runs fine at a higher mixture of oil, I don’t think it’s a problem at all. I’ve owned two motors 70’s and older we always run 50:1 no problems.

Overall I tend to agree with your buddy.

I’ve experienced that if you open up the gas to a burner then open the valve on the tank it messes up something with the regulator, in which case I turn the tank again, then the burner off, tank back on, then relite the grill.

Doesn’t really matter how you do it, but cooking a potato twice, the first time to cook the inside of the potato, the second is for a uniform crisp, otherwise the outside overcookeds as you try and crisp it, and you end up taking them out before the center has fully cooked, because you’re burning to outside.

Similar reason they say to take your meat/steak out of the fridge before grilling, and warm it to room temperature, otherwise you are much more likely to char the outside and still under cook the steak.
