Slow today. I’m seeing a trend of folks running big planer board spreads in the crowded head of lake area. Not going to tell someone what to do but really messes up other guys ability to maneuver.

Tried today, head of lake. Muddy and not a single bite. Tried everything I had from slow to high speed trolling to slow bait.

I was there today. About 8 inches of ramp but was great. Best I can tell if the water is over 11’ it will be flooded based on today.

Bite was really slow for those I talked to and me. Unbelievable weather though.

I gave it a shot this evening. 4th cut, back channel. Shallow, plastics, crawlers, cranks, dragging. Not a fish to show for for it. Unbelievably great time to be in a boat at least!

The mystery of the river. The dam by alma great but according to lore the next good fishing spot after that dam is 30 miles upriver near red wing!!

I fish alone and launching and loading can be stressful this time of year.

I launched on Monday. There wasn’t a hose and the duck weed will completely cover your boat and trailer. Go to bay point.

I was out today. Fished the head of the lake then went to point no point and a few points up stream (green I think). Made 1 pass and the wind got to be too much. I pulled JR-7’s— nada. Went back up river and got skunked in the Wisconsin channel. I left and got skunked below the bridge and called it a day. Temps at 70-71. Baitfish covered the screen just about everywhere.

Crazy number of boats today. The water is very clear, probably 6 feet+. I didn’t see a single walleye/sauger caught with 50+ boats. It was great to be out anyway.

Yes. Out on pool 4 Friday 11/20 morning. Cold, windy, and not a lot caught. Beautiful today but I wasn’t out though I bet it was bumper boats! Any fish down river?

In past falls, I have found quite a few good spots that weren’t at the dam in the fall. This year those spots have been poor. Are others having luck down river?

Amazing weather today. It was bumper boats. The fish were biting so so. I think most boats caught a fish or two, but I saw a lot of shorts. Blades, Dubuque rigs, jig and plastics, jig and minnow all seemed about the same.

I tried again last weekend. Boats everywhere, fish everywhere. I didn’t see see or experience any catching down by the cab line or head of lake.

I tried again Tuesday. It was pretty muddy. 2 keepers and a few rough fish on the lake trolling cranks.

I went out Saturday . I tried from dam to can line and in the back channel. I think I had a bite. The wind was bad and I got out late. Cranks and Dubuque rigs.

The water has considerably warmed up, now 55 degrees. Think they’ll be in the lower river/can line and Pepin yet? Has anyone been out?

I was out Friday and didn’t see too many walleye caught in the upper portions from Bay Point Marina to the dam.

I tried all over pool 4 on 4/1.
I fished right and left of the Y, down river a bit, into Wisconsin channel, and back into goose. Caught 1 near the dam and saw 1 caught below the lock, and that was it. There were a lot if boats and I think I saw 1 other fish caught. I didn’t mark any in the Wisconsin channel. Goose had a lot of marks in the hole but no takers. I’ve never been able to catch a walleye in goose lake off the Wisconsin channel. They probably weren’t walleye.

I find it a lot harder to catch them this time of year when the rollers are up.
