Also, glue and tapes would be the way to go for hanging things in a core type house. Would anybody have recomendations for a glue for fiberglass to aluminum?

Great idea with those roll up bunks. I think I can see a support pole for the bunk in that Zack shack. I was think of putting the bunks along the long walls, so I would need some sort of support for the outer pipe when they are deployed.

Hooks from the ceiling? I’m not sure if fold down legs would work with the “softer” bunk system.

    Nice work everybody!

Currently trying to sell our house and realtor suggested a 3rd bedroom would help it sell. So I tore off 9ft of our wrap around deck, cut a big hole in our basement wall and put in a 32×40″ window and window well. Got the bedroom framed up, electric ran, and sheetrock up. Just have to mud, paint, trim, and finish lighting fixtures.

Side note, its amazing how busy Menards has stayed through this whole virus thing

Gimme a tree, winch, and two hours. Skun and deboned.

Since CWD i’ve butchered every deer…Outside.

Them 20 story folks know where to find the outside?!? waytogo wave

Okay sorry, I wasn’t going to add any more here but the shortsightedness I’m seeing posted has me SMH.

These folks live on the 20th floor, now why are they sitting around playing cards when they should be outside butchering their own deer?

Its not deer season? Did I get it right?

    nailed it

Well it is what it is, then I suppose we failed because that’s our society now. Do you think now overnight we can go back to life like it was in the 1800’s?

And now today in our “failed” society we should be ashamed of having to rely on farmers and ranchers for all they do to keep us fed.

This obviously is an outdoors fishing/hunting forum and with names like “crappie” and “bowhuntin” it’s clear (to me at least) that you’re disregarding that no matter how many times you google how to butcher a pig, it’s not feasible for the greater masses who might live in a 20th floor apartment to carve up livestock.

But you seem to believe we’re a failure if we don’t?

Here’s a challenge for you…starting today, no longer eat anything that you bought from a store. From now on, limit what you eat to only what you hunted, animals you raised entirely on your own and only fruits and vegetable’s you grew on your own.

“And don’t come crying to anybody else” if that doesn’t work out so well.

I’ll just leave it at that. I’ll step away from commenting further on this thread.

Its not about being able to butcher a pig. Its an attitude of being able to self sustain and not rely on other people. Life is full of choices, living on the 20th story of an apartment is a choice and if it inhibits self sustainability, than that is your choice. Don’t like your situation? Get up and move. Do something about it. Too many complainers that want everything done for them, somebody else butchering their meat is just a very trivial example of that.

If you can’t do it, better learn how or do without. And don’t come crying to anybody else if you choose not to learn.

Last I checked, google will spit out 14,000,000 million results in less than 0.65 seconds, on how to butcher a pig.

I’ll play. I got very lucky as well. She loves the outdoors and can keep up with me with just about everything. Bowhunts on her own, guts her own deer, breasts out birds, and has been a huge help on every renovation project on our house. Not to mention a very loving mother to our 2 young boys.
Here she is on the first canoe trip I brought her on into the Quetico.

My dad built a house about 8 years ago. 8×16 with a 3 ft v front. Double doors in the back to haul atv.

He runs an extension cord from the generator to the fishhouse. Male plug on the outside of the fish house so all he has to do is plug the cord in.
2 deep cycle batteries inside hooked up to an onboard charger. Generator really is only needed to charge the batteries, run the microwave (rarely used), and TV.

He ran all the wiring before finishing the inside so there are no cords showing anywhere. Only bad thing is he clipped one of the speaker wires with a finishing nail, so he just bought a sound bar instead of tearing out the ceiling to find the bad spot.

It is a process building for sure, but fun if you enjoy that kind of stuff. Great feeling when you can build something like that and then go out and use it and be successful.

Really think and plan on what is important to YOU. Are you a hardcore fisher? Or is a TV and comfort more important?

All very valid reasons for having Wolves. coffee

How about this…because the population was nearly exterminated in the 1970’s. Reintroduction to keep the food chain in balance and ensure they weren’t completely wiped was determined to be the best course of action by federal wildlife managers. Complete removal of an apex predator is known to have catastrophic consequences for other non-predatory animals.

Now, here is what I think the best argument for a hunt is. The ideal wolf population, as determined by the recovery plan through the ESA, in Minnesota is 1250 to 1400. It’s now estimated close to 2400 are in Minnesota. Over time, that could be problematic for other animal populations and also wolf populations.

But what would I know, being from the city and all. coffee

There is your argument right there for wolf control.

Humans have had too big of impact in natrual areas to just let nature runs its course, so that is out the window. Hell the environmentalists tried it for years up on Isle Royale, and then they just HAD to go a Fack with it, so that is no longer a natural area with natural ebbs and flows.

The argument that ranchers should’ve known what they are got into is complete BS too. How many NEW ranches and cattle farms are there? Most if not all the farms were established many years ago before the ESA and Feds decided to bring wolves back into the area. So technically, the ranches and cows were there before the wolves.

How about this, the folks in the cities can borrow some wolves from up north. Like 40-50 of them, from competing packs. Transplant them into the parks and along the rivers downtown. We can all take bets on how long before they are asking to return the borrowed wolves.

My buddy and I both drew tags a few years back when they had that season. We were all setup to hunt, had pictures of wolves on our baits. Morning we were supposed to leave we checked the quota and it said it was full. Day later the DNR comes out and says it was a computer “glitch”. Haha BS. We never were able to get out and hunt.

I think we are eligible for the full amount. I’ve never been big on gov payouts or anything like that, but this one could be really helpful for us as a family.

I am still planning a career change this summer/fall. Our house is on the market but not selling. This stimulus check would be helpful to pay the mortgage while I am in school and wife is working part time while taking care of our boys.

Or the whole plan could get crapped on if they postpone the school. Then the check would probably go into some stocks or something to hopefully grow a little before we need it.

Up to 6 for the year so far. Haven’t been out much though and with the milder winter out here in ND, I think a lot of spots got walked through March.

It is really wild to me how popular shed hunting has gotten. 2009-2010 we worked over a huge section of river bottoms west of Grand Forks. Most of the farmers we talked to for permission said something along the lines of “Why would you want those?”.
We actually had to change how we asked from “shed hunting” to “looking for deer antler sheds”, because a few people thought we were bringing guns into the woods.

Now it seems like a guy has to be very aware of how early he has to get into spots. Gone are the days of waiting til the snow melts to hit all the spots.

You have to reserve a spot on the couch at our place.

Hopefully that little one isn’t behind the Mastiff when he has to go #2! Get buried real quick haha

I grew up with Springers and Newfoundlands. As far as family dogs, Newfoundlands are hard to beat.

Since then, my wife and I have a Brittany spaniel and Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever mix. The lab/retriever is one of the smartest dogs I’ve been around, will hunt anything and figure it out quick. Probably the only reason I started duck hunting.
The Brittany is a great upland hunter. Tolerates the kids but is quick to get on the couch if they start jumping on her. Really just too small to take being jumped on by 2 and 3 yr olds. Doesn’t snap or anything just gets up and moves.
Couple “action” shots as pups haha

Its getting it up there that is the issue with a shelf…

With my lift, I can do it all myself, and load the sled up with mostly all my ice equipment, whole thing probably weighs over 250lbs all loaded up.

Nice fish! Can be a frustrating lake at times for sure.

I’ll trade you a couple good reef spots for walleyes for some crappie spots!
We’ve really only lucked into a few crappies while pulling spinners in the shallower bays for walleyes.

I use the same pulley system as Marty-WI. I don’t use a strap though, just put the hooks under the lip of the sled, 2 sets so there is 2 hooks on each side of the sled. Works great in my shed, by putting the hooks under the sled lip, I can get it pretty close to snug with the ceiling.

Camso T4S tracks on my Honda Foreman. Work awesome. For anybody looking to pull heavier loads like skid houses, the extra “hookup” and traction they provide when pulling is awesome!

ATVtracks.net is where I bought mine. 3,800$ I think, 3 years ago. Came with everything needed to put on. I put mine on myself and original install was a 3-4 hours. After that its about 30-45 minutes to put on and take off.
I think atvtracks.net had free shipping too, if shipping to a business address.

300 rolls? Not a prob. I cleaned out walmart last week, filled a 8×20 enclosed snowmobile trailer.

Guess I should clarify….300 singles or 150 “doubles”?

Your probably hitting it just at the end. Won’t be much longer with the warmer weather coming this week.
We really considered it for next weekend but didn’t want to get over there and find we couldn’t get on the ice.

lol thats about right, you think theres a diaper and wipes shortage now, just wait 9 months.

Is it insider trading if I buy stock in pampers or Luvs knowing that in 9 months the population is going to explode??

Nah just smart investing. Kind of like buying minnows now, instead of right before or after the SIP is placed.

Hows the ice? I called a few days ago and they said pretty much walk on only.
Also, if you are at lake ridge, they are pretty nice people and will help out any way they can.

If it is walk on only, I would try out from the dam walls. Almost straight out from the 4 big pillars?(whatever they are). Navionics is pretty accurate out there, will get you close.

One thing I forgot to add is…make sure your truck is CLEAN! We encountered a french/canadian border agent and she was very concerned that ND mud would hurt the Canadian environment. First time we have ever gotten turned around at the border on the up, and it was for having too much mud on my truck.

We turned around, knocked most of it off in Pembina and then gave it a quick bath with the window washer squeegees at the gas station. Wasn’t even super dirty, just had a couple piles of mud on the running boards.
