We have a 23 foot pontoon and the sea legs lift it out of the water with 8 people on it with no problem. Never had an issue with the legs getting buried in the sand. Its never moved in the wind or waves once it is up in the air. What you will notice is you will lose a little bit of speed with the added weight of the sea legs.

Sea legs on the north end are just fine. We have them on our pontoon as do the neighbors. No issues with the sea legs, but the water is so low, we still can’t get the pontoon close enough to the 100′ dock to use them.
February 8, 2024 at 3:18 pm #2252890I had that same issue. I found that if you adjust the screw in, that actuates the height adjustment, it stops the pedestal from sinking. Here is a video to help.
October 12, 2023 at 12:04 pm #2229919I’m sure you’ve already done this, but test the battery. Lower voltage will result in higher current. Could be kicking out the auto resetting fuse. And when you stow it and deploy it, would be enough time to reset that fuse. Just a thought.
April 14, 2023 at 5:33 am #2195854I had this same thing happen about 3 years ago. My boat insurance covered it. I worked with Imperial Boat Repair in Hudson, Wi. They ended up buying a brand new windshield and cut it to fit. I also had the insurance cover the cost of new flooring as there was no way the tiny shards of glass were coming out of the carpet.
February 23, 2023 at 7:23 am #2183945My parents live on the north end of Mille Lacs also. They went through this same thing last year. They ended up going with a Harris 24 foot pontoon with a 115HP motor. They used it a ton last year and never regretted not getting a tritoon. They had Sealegs put on it and never had an issue with the big storms up there.
Not sure where on the North end you are at, but it is very shallow where my parents are and they would never get the pontoon on a lift, so Sealegs are a must if you are going to keep it in the water.
My dad has a 24V 80lb trolling motor on the front of it, and it pulls that thing around alot better than I thought it would. It has a nice quick detach plate that you barley notice when the motor in not installed.
August 31, 2022 at 7:19 am #2144529We have had chickens for 8 years. the coop is uninsulated and I just have a LED light in there that is on 12hrs a day. Water is heated and the door to the run is always open, the run is covered though. They don’t like to walk around in the snow. Never had an issue with them not laying.
March 28, 2019 at 7:21 am #1846543I went through this 2 years ago. I ended up getting a scheels ultra light series. It has a fast tip and good backbone. Definitely worth a look at.
January 24, 2019 at 1:58 pm #1829074I was told they wouldn’t even think about hauling it out until there is at least 18″ of ice.
January 9, 2015 at 9:41 am #1494729I used rubbing alcohol and it worked great. Right after I was done I went to the car wash and there were no issues with the finish.
November 26, 2014 at 10:31 pm #1477385I bought a flx28 last year at the show. It saved me about $100 by buying it at the show over the store.
September 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm #1195543I have 11′ ceilings in my garage as well. I bought the lift system and love it. I didn’t put longer cables on. I just lower it down and slide it into my truck. That way I don’t have to try and lift it into the truck myself. Then the same thing when I get home.
June 19, 2013 at 7:22 pm #1178821I caught a 23″ up there this weekend that was dropping eggs in the boat. Thought it was kind of weird too.
June 4, 2013 at 10:47 am #1175414Does anyone have any expierience with the Navionics chip for these? Would it make more sense to get that one instead of the Lake Insight.
March 6, 2013 at 5:00 pm #1149111I bought this product at the ice show last year and love it. No need to buy another cover.
January 4, 2013 at 12:42 pm #1126704I have seen a few go down the hole. But have always had good luck with a jigging rap. They shoot out to the side pretty well.
January 1, 2013 at 8:27 pm #1125882Update… I went out today again and had the anger in the house so it was warm when I got there. Started with 3 pulls. Was very happy. So I let it sit for a few hours and couldn’t get it started again. It’s really getting frustrating. I’m not sure what the next step should be.
January 1, 2013 at 8:19 pm #1125879I just had that same thought. So I bought a 6v 12ah battery on amazon, it fits perfectly in one of the tank doors. Cut some styrofoam and silicone it in there so the battery doesn’t move during transports. Then there are just 4 screws on the back to remove to access the wiring. I just cut the old wiring out and wired the switch up to the new battery. Used it the last 3 days and have been very happy with it. Now I just charge it when I charge my flashers.
December 31, 2012 at 12:42 pm #1125401I use the Frabil LED 4 light. I think it gives off plenty of light and stores easily until needed.
December 31, 2012 at 2:07 am #1125342I used it yesterday. Started alright then, still took about 12 pulls
December 18, 2012 at 12:06 am #1121355the fingernail clippers don’t even come close to cutting the braid.
