Great, thanks for the pointers! As you said, this is exactly like snap jigging really. I’m really excited to fish the rippin raps in this manner. Cover lots of water and find aggressive fish! Great show, IDO is one of the best in helping people improve their skill set!!!

I’ve fished rippin’ raps and ratl’ traps for walleyes and pumped them on the retrieve. However, I’ve never fished them off the bottom. Do you follow them on the fall or let them free fall?

I own shotguns as well. Was referring to assualt weapons. Nobody said you couldn’t have them….

Just funny how people get when these subjects come up….it will never happen that you can’t have firearms that you use for hunting…just wont happen.

I know, I know….YOU just wait and see, THEY WILL!

You are right on with this one Taz. It bothers me that there are fellow sportsman on the opposite side of this issue. Do any of you remeber anything about Hilter’s Nazi regime ? Once any goverment disarms you they can have there way with you ! nuff said

LOL, nice comparison….you are not being disarmed by the govt. limiting the size of the clip you put in your assault weapon that you apparently need as an entitled American.

No, I don’t believe this law will stop any killings but I also don’t believe you need a semi automatic weapon….just because your an American….get a life…what a stupid comment. Get concerned about something that really matters and stop acting like you are a victim of the govt

Joel, what is your searching technique online? I’ve always used google or bing maps on one window and lake finder on the other to search an area.

There are lots of smaller lakes that don’t have names on them though. Is it local knowledge you use to get the name, call DNR, or how else do you find names of lakes not listed on maps so you can retrieve a survey….

I work for 3M Industrial Adhesives. Most of our products are not available for retail sale but the two that are are Supper 77 and Spray 90.

I would suggest you try Spray 90 as 77 is strictly a light duty adhesive. You may want to ask your carpet supplier to check witht the mfg for plasticizers in your carpet. This is commonly found in vinyl material and it will eat many adhesives once heated.

Without getting too lengthy just make sure you use enough adhesive to make good contact. If you have textured carpet make sure you fill those gaps with adhesive. Also, remove any loose particles from the wood and carpet. With contact adhesives you spray both sides let them dry to the point where they don’t trasfer to your hand and then make the bond and apply pressure. You can’t use too much adhesive but you can use too little in these applications.

    Hope this helps!!

Best advice I can give you. Jamaica is a great place but…

1.) Don’t EVER say your name to anyone or they’ll find a way to put it on something and guilt you into buying it
2.) When they ask if this is your first time to Jamaica say NO. Then they’ll think you’ve heard all their guilt trips before…act like you know!
3.) If you go to Dunn’s River Falls take the ferry ride out so you enter on the beach. The entrance above is full of beggers and tourist traps. I had a guy literally sit by me for 1 hour after hearing my name he put it on a wooden Bob Marley and wanted me to pay when the bus came. It was uncomfortable.
4.) I had a blast on a tube ride down an aqua blue river in the mountains….I recommend and if you stay close to Ocho Rios the tour guides will tell you about it.

5.)Stay in populated areas and don’t go into town at night…have fun at your resort!!

Trust me you’ll have a great time but you just have to know what to do and what not….

Thanks for the update! I might try and get back to Leech possibly for a weekend if at all possible. Last spring we did really well casting cranks on shallow rocks and it was a blast. Nice fish!

What a great read! I’m sure he’ll never forget that day and the story will be told many times over in the years to come!
