Yes, looks like a it’s a Pintail to me too.
You put that on a jig head or just a hook?November 20, 2017 at 7:24 am #1729199Mitch – Do you do post form laminate?
d
No, we do custom laminate, quartz and granite.January 11, 2017 at 7:10 am #1664365Yeah thanks. I’m not one of those guys that sees one Ford ranger parked on the ice and decide to blaze new trails all over
December 11, 2016 at 6:32 am #1656235I’m on a mission to catch one this winter through the ice. Thanks!
December 6, 2016 at 1:53 pm #1655009We need this wind to stop. Water temp is ready just need a calm night.
October 12, 2016 at 12:01 pm #1644579I would try to go with a guy who has all the fun tools. He is also going to know a good spot to fish. I guarantee if you go and catch fish he will like it and want to do it more. If you get a hand auger, no heater and primitive equipment and then on top of that not catch wish it will be a bust for sure. My favorite part of Ice fishing when I was his age was the treats grandpa brought along.
January 21, 2016 at 9:19 am #1594312If I’m going to fish Lake trout and Walleye on the same rod on the same day, what pound test line should I put on? I would like to use my TUCR for both but if the pound test would not match I could break out my old Gander rod and use that for one or the other.
Also is 4LB test good for rainbows on my bullwhip?
ThanksJanuary 14, 2016 at 10:34 am #1592555Putnum had the IDO guys using these last year up in ELY.

January 4, 2016 at 1:52 pm #1589637Do you notice a downturn in action as the winter goes on? I was in ELY for opener a few years ago by accident and we decided to give it a try. We did not do well but we talked to an old local resort owner, that was on the same lake that my buddies cabin was on, and he said the fishing is better the weekend after opener every year.
We are going back up to ELY the last weekend of January and our main target is the DNR stocked Rainbow trout lakes. If we do well we are going to hop to the lake that produces Lakers and give it a try again.December 27, 2015 at 7:57 pm #1587629It’s on YouTube now. It wasn’t a few hours ago. They now advertise it will be on YouTube by 9am so I was wondering if I was just going crazy
December 8, 2015 at 8:01 pm #1583167If I went out tonight and had to choose one I would pick a shiner over a sucker.
December 7, 2015 at 1:17 pm #1582774Just before freeze up is always some of the best fishing. If you can get out now is the time.
This is exactly my point. Do the fish know its first ice? What if we have first ice in November or what if first ice is in January? I would assume its seasonal so we are missing the best fishing of the season because we are not out there now.
December 1, 2015 at 3:12 pm #1581136I Had the Garmin 78S with lake map chip. I got it because it would float so I would not have to worry about dropping it down the hole. I liked it but it was hard to use compared to a cell phone. We are spoiled with touch screen. The 78S you can only navigate by using the buttons. Mine was stolen out of my truck this summer and I bought the Navonics app for $15 and I already like using it a little more for searching lakes. I did like the 78S for marking weed lines in the summer so I can go back and not have to drill so many holes but its not worth it to me to buy another one.
December 1, 2015 at 10:00 am #1581019Most will say TUCR on here for sure.
I also fish crappie a lot and use tungsten or other heavy jigs. Because of that I chose TUCRs Bullwhip. Sensitive tip but a stronger backbone. I had a ultra light rod before and when I hooked into the decent size crappie the rod would bend to the handle. Wont have to deal with that anymore but also will not lose the sensitivity. I chose a 28″ because I like shorter rods but a lot of guys will say 30+ for hole hopping. I fish inside. TUCR are eager for your business which is nice when you are spending a lot of money on a rod.November 29, 2015 at 9:20 am #1580341I would call and tell them exactly what kind of fishing you are going to do and they will set you up correctly. This is how I view them:
Noodle: ultra light
Bullwhip: light but with noodle tip
Precision: medium light
Precision Power: mediumNovember 25, 2015 at 9:05 am #1579616Check out Ben, he will get you on some fish: http://www.elyiceguides.com

November 20, 2015 at 7:51 am #1578383Get to one of the shows early so you can get the length and grip you want. I think they are going to go fast again this year.
I just picked up my Bullwhip on Wednesday and I was planning on 3LB but we will see what anyone else says.November 12, 2015 at 7:37 am #1576679I ordered mine on Sept 28th and still have not gotten it. All good things come to those who wait.
