I bought the 96 light string. Show price was around 20 bux and on his website its 29.99. I also got the rechargable 12 volt lithium pack its small (little bigger than a pack of cigarretes) so you aren’t lugging around anything big/heavy. Its also rechargable.

Well I bought a set haven’t got to use them yet. They seemed really bright in the otter they had them in at the show. The owner stood behind them if they break. For the price at the show a guy could’t go wrong I guess. Will be using them this weekend.
December 6, 2011 at 5:05 pm #1015025No complaints from me! The boys at Otter/Reeds talked me into a deal I couldnt resist. 500 out the door on a new extreme thermal cottage normally 650. There were plenty of deals if you wanted em. Wheel and deal with the vendors. It sure worked for me.
June 15, 2010 at 7:37 pm #880249As far as dredging the puddle(lake shady) that is in the works. If people would attend meetings they would know that. The state will be dredging shady to save money on fill to build the new overpass(‘s)on the north side of oronoco as discussed at the last lake meeting. As far as the ski club goes it sounds like foster will be a host. They will have a weekly show there for the month of july this year to see how it goes. All as I can say is many will be happy to see them any where but zumbro, but anywhere they end up it will start a new problem. The best fix is for them to just build a private pond/lake like the majority of the show teams already have.
December 21, 2009 at 1:13 pm #825119Went out on zumbro thurs, chester fri & sat, and foster sun. Found mixed success with a lot of little fish in the mix. Found pretty decent ice through all there were wheelers and snomobiles on zum. We fished a spot rite next to the channel and had 10″, but found spots of 8″… Chester had between 6″ and 8″ and foster 6″ to 10″. Lots of big airbubbles in the ice. But was solid. We were on foot everywhere. Remember to still be safe.
October 30, 2009 at 1:48 pm #812744Been doing ok. the later in the day for me has been better, but mornings are still good. The fish I have been finding are 16 to 30 fow locating them up high is key. The lake was low a week and a half ago buit the rain actually has brought the level up past summer pool. GOOD LUCK!!
May 16, 2009 at 1:56 am #777204Not pickin a fight at all… Thats childish talk. Just standing up for an organization that helps the lake and a local business. Everyone is quick to bash them, but when someone throws facts back and stand up for them everyone is quick to drop the subject… You should see the PM’s that I have goten from other fisherman on this site sayin thanks for standin up to CT and others on their ski team bashing. Like I said before they are 50 years old and runnin strong dont think they will just dissapear so get used to them or dont fish the lake mon, wed, thur, or sat mornings.
May 15, 2009 at 11:41 pm #777183I am saying the club has been there for 50 years and the boats have been the same for 15 years. The team does do some stupid @ss stuff and so do the weekend wally guys with the 1000 pound water sacks in their boat for wakeboarding puting out a bigger wake then a hydrodyne ski team boat and no one has anything to say about that. What i am getting at is its life there are dumb @ss people and we have to deal with them, but to call out an organization that helps a business and helps more then any other organization clean the lake, even more then the so called “lake improvemnent assoc” is assinine. Grow up guys its life guys.
May 15, 2009 at 2:22 pm #776984Take your boat and launch it at a public ramp. If you are so disgusted. I called out Ct on runnin his mouth and bad mouthin a good thing. The club does do repairs at the launch, the club does do lake clean up, the club has been in place for 50 years. Mark my words with out the ski show fishermans would be CLOSED! It may not be 75%, but its over half. I worked there less then 5 years ago and the winters sucked big time except for the occasional x-mas parties. Talk tyo jim ask him he will tell you how much he benifits from the club. Ifhe didnt why the H would he let them saty there???????
The lake is the issue? whast wrong with it? The club has been there for 50 YEARS the same boats now for 15 no more power in the boats and no less. So the talk is nonsense. Fishing has stayed the same if not improved in the last 23 years Ihave been on the lake.f you are s0 digusted in the lake fish else where its the land of 10,000 lakes!!!May 14, 2009 at 3:40 pm #776743“The launching there has NOT been free since Jim bought the place from Nick Bolus several years ago” Quote from CT
Who bought the place? You better get your info straight!
May 14, 2009 at 1:20 pm #776689Because rumors come true, there was a rumor sandy point was sold, a rumor grandpa eds was closing, and look what rumors turn into… REALITY… Fishermans inn is privately for sale for $1,000,000. It has been known since Ralph (jims dad) past away. So I wont call it a rumor it a FACT!!
May 14, 2009 at 12:25 pm #776660More to what that I am aware of? The fact that the ski team drives in probablly 75% of his annual sales, with out the team there fishermans would be closed. There already is the rumor that Jim is goin to sell for $1,000,000 and if that happens say good bye to ski team and launch and hello some nice condos.
I heard at the lake improvement meeting that they are trying to charge 600 ayear for 10 years for people that live on lake, in return would make it a private lake solving all the issues in a nut shell!!May 13, 2009 at 11:04 pm #776529Not a fan at all of ski team, but do you consider the amount of money they bring to jim??? They usually help with all repairs done down there I grew up on the team over 10 years ago and remember doing all sorts of clean up days and repair days. (the huge cottonwoods that used to stand there ski club cut down and repaired parking lot.) Ct sounds like you need the whole picture before you jump to point fingers. Did jim tell you that they didnt pay anything? Because i am willing to bet the team made the repair and jim furnished material. With out ski team fishermans inn would be condos like sandy point is and there would be NO launch. so watch your P’s and Q’s.. I have spent my whole life on the lake and the quality of fishing has been the same as i remember when i was 2. The garbage has been and will continue to be present. So because the team washed the slob fisherman garbage off shore its their responsibility??!!
March 28, 2009 at 1:26 pm #763546Hairy how you been? Its duke. No it wasnt dnr “commercial fishers” they said i guess.. Act like they own the lake.
March 28, 2009 at 12:51 pm #763531Was out yesterday in boat!! With the north wind it was blowing the ice back up the river. From postiers point across to rattle snake was the ice line. Moved atleast 100 yards yesterday.. Fishing was a bit slower than the last couple days, but the high skys arent helping with out a warm front. Crappies are there just whether or not they want to bite!! We found most of our fish in 12 to 14 fow. Fishing with ofcourse mini mite, plain, waxie, or minnow they didnt care … Great open water fishing.
March 3, 2009 at 2:55 pm #754458Let them net its their water because if we take their rights again it will cost us millions to buy their rights back. Its an endless battle. Maybe we should give them the whole lake being it was theirs to begin with and then the complaining will stop. If the indiands want to get like we are they will net every lake possible think of it that way.

Saw one of those at the Marcum challange. They sure do set up quick. Looked like lots of room inside also. Not sure what you would need to do to prep the snow/ice under it. On clean ice or little snow it shouldnt be a problem. Its where there is lots of snow I wonder how it would work if there was water coming up on the ice. You may be fishing in a slush pile or if you clear the snow away it may just be a puddle. It will be interesting to hear if this is a real problem or not.
I used a truck bed liner to lay on ice and we have a tank mount Mr. Heater and have had no water or slush problems. Never did with out the liner either just got a little icy.
December 25, 2008 at 5:28 pm #731652Have had one for a few weeks now. It works great. It sets up easy and you can anchor it down before ever setting up. (floor tabs in the corners) It has 6 inch T-handle anchors that work mint. And a sinch strap to an ice anchor on the outside facing the wind. Its a great “PORTABLE” shack being very light and easy to store in the included back pack. Great Shack for two guys I have had three once and worked ok.
December 16, 2008 at 2:44 am #729023Totally agree i got the eskimo and i cant find one bad thing about it. Great shack and is very portable setting up in less than s minute and tearing down the same. Goes into bag easy and is lite. only 23 pounds
December 10, 2008 at 2:34 pm #727551Called in today and the service was ok I guess. The unit is going on 3 years old. They will replace with a refurbished one for 170.00 and it has a 6 month limited warranty. A new retails at 260…and has the full one year warranty. I guess I will be buying a new one it looks like
December 7, 2008 at 3:35 pm #726809A buddy just got his 55 in the mail and we went out to see how it compares to fl-18. We were not impressed at all as matter of fact he was going to return the machine. We were in 22 fow and it would not pick up jigs had to have gain way up then it picks up interference. Not a good buy in our eyes… vexilar or marcum still leading the pack
December 7, 2008 at 3:17 pm #726805Does anyone know of someone who services this unit? My unit will not turn on even after replacing many sets of batteries. Any help is great thanks!!!!
December 7, 2008 at 2:45 am #726735Hey I thought the show was great… Lots of new gadgets for the ice this year. Was very impressed and cant wait for next year,

I agree….special regs need to/should have been put into place on this lake to sustain a reasonable population of decent fish as soon as people started to fish it…..No argument there. In fact, if it were up to me, they’d put highly HIGHLY restrictive regs on all the small reserviors around town (Including Lake Zumbro). Personally, I don’t care if I ever clean another stinkin sunfish in my life.
It seems you have no clue as to what you are talkin about if you think zumbro needs regs you had better learn how to fish. The fishin out there is great when you know the water and know where they are. You can sit there and laugh at all the citiots sittin in a big cirlce wondering where the fish are.
December 13, 2007 at 2:39 am #632850After all this is a named creek and with entry from road when creek freezes and it does it can not be denied. Last year i got dropped off at the creek and walked up nothing at at can stop that. No one can own the water of the creek. I do though 100% agree people are careless with garbage and the over fishing is sickening. The one time i went there this year and the last was talked to many guys with small crappies in their pail wondering where the big ones are. “I said look in your pail!”
