Grifter, how big are these “schools” of walleye your tolling through? 5,10,50,100 eyes? What would be your best guess? Matt

If they took the one over 28″ away, then they would have a tournament! Otherwise it’s just luck. Don’t feel alone on this one Hawg, lots feel the same. Matt
May 7, 2007 at 6:33 pm #568691Wouldn’t happen to be very close to Bay City would it? Oh that one Not to many secrets since this internet thing came around huh.
May 3, 2007 at 11:59 pm #567643Segmented Leadcore works the best when combining lead/boards. Splice 2-3 or 4 colors between a 50’lead and 10 lb mono on the reel, clip the board to the mono.
April 22, 2007 at 5:44 pm #563373I attended the weigh in. First place Steve Vick/Ron Holmgren, 4 fish 25.15# Big fish also by them 10.66# Second 3 fish 19.13#, third place 5 fish 13.99#
March 22, 2007 at 12:06 am #551742I had a bad bend in my 225 HO, I beat it back with a piece of wood and a hammer. It bent back just fine and I have a quarter size piece missing on the back where a rock got caught between the prop and skeg….so a definate weak point! Not saying yours won’t break but their pretty tough. If it breaks below the radius of the prop I would grind it flat and hit it with some paint…good to go. If it breaks higher and won’t protect the prop, weld a new piece on, grind the sides flat on the weld beads along with the bottom and your set. I thought about putting a cresent wrench on the bent part and hitting the wrench but I thought it might be to much stress on a small area. Just my two cents! Matt
February 23, 2007 at 8:42 pm #540827Its all clear to me now! kind of interesting I guess. Thanks for your input Tuck and Crackhead.
February 23, 2007 at 12:46 am #540461I got a dumb question. If when water freezes and turns to ice in pvc pipes and glass bottles why does it expand and break both items, yet on the pond when it gets cold ice contracts? The only thing I can think of is there is oxygen in the water which causes it to increase its mass when turning from a liquid to a solid. Anybody?
February 6, 2007 at 4:59 am #533295Canoli, I grew up fishing Norway Lake and my parents live on it now. If it’s crappie and northern pike your after you picked a good lake for numbers but size is lacking. There’s lots of 3/# crappies and loads of hammerhandle snotrockets but you’ll have to search for size. Most fish of all species key on the weeds. The weedline is from 5-7 fow, pulling #4-5 shadraps in the firetiger pattern along the north and east shoreline of the main basin(big norway) will put plenty of northerns and eyes’ in the boat. Crappies are a bit more scattered at that time of the year but don’t look deeper than 10 ft. Bass fishing can be very good along the snake grass on the west side and the sunken island in the main basin during the daytime or any of the many docks at lowlight conditions. Hope this helps good luck!!
December 3, 2006 at 4:52 pm #506372Greg, what do you think is frozen when that happpens, just wondering what I should try to warm up next time. Sat. I let the engine idle for 15 min. at the landing before trying to ease it into gear, this is also my second. Third set should be a charm, hopefully fixed by this coming weekend.
December 3, 2006 at 12:26 am #506240I was on pool 2 this morning, 12 deg. Broke my remote thottle cable for my 225 right off the bat, then when I went to load it up 20 min. later, my Ranger Trail oil bath hubs must have water in them, two of my four were dragging across the parking lot. Had to beg a friend to bring me a torch at 7 am. So easy on the cables and pay attention to trailor hubs I guess.
November 2, 2006 at 12:19 am #494927Dave, indeed P2 can be accessed almost year round as I’m sure you know, but when Mille Lacs ices up, thats where you’ll find me. Only times I hit the river past Jan. is warm days with low ice flow.
November 1, 2006 at 12:06 am #494405I hear ya on the numbers thing Rootski, I was on P2 sat. 11-7 only 3 walleyes, a 22,25 and a fat 26. I must have fished 10 wingies, all on ringworms. Got into some nice white bass, man those things look healthy, good fighters too! All mine came on 3/16 jigs, tried 1/8 too windy for me. Every fish came off the tops 5-6 fow.
Good luck next time, I’m in a 620 ranger/225 evinrude, plan on being down there every weekend till ice-up, stop by and say hi if you see me. I would be happy to trade info, its easier to find fish with two boats than one!
October 23, 2006 at 10:40 pm #491790Thanks to both of you for your valuable info!! What lb test do you use with superlines and are their any advantages to using a fused vs a braid. I know the fireline holds alot of water, just wonder about the braids your using. Either way, looks like I’ll be rigged with both mono and a “hardline”.
Once again thanks for the info. See ya on the water!!!
October 17, 2006 at 9:04 pm #489831Haven’t seen a post from you for fri/sat. Lip, how did ya’ll do. I was in my 620 both nights Knox to Indian, very slow for me.
October 12, 2006 at 11:05 pm #488292I hear ya!! Someone scratched my tandom axle Rangertrail trailer front to back of fender. $500-700 damage to fiberglass alone. That what I get for parking in Eddys hotel lot sat. night.

July 16, 2006 at 12:41 am #460797I have been cleaning my X-104 with windex for two years, does a wonderful job, no problems. I fish 2-3 times a week and clean it every time I go. Why is this a no-no?
