Full Service Battery in Farmington gives the best price on cores. That’s assuming you don’t find a use for them and decide to let them go.

However, Oreilly buys batteries as well and I believe they give a $10 gift card.

    CHECK YOUR GROUNDS

    Then:

Hook it to a jump box and see if it’s the battery. Replace the battery if all is well and DO NOT use Polaris branded batteries, they’re absolute garbage.

If that’s not it, I would check the decompression ball in the cam. Maybe a spring was installed incorrectly, keeping the weights pulled out and not allowing the exhaust valve to open slightly on startup. Or something is sticking and the weight is stuck in the “run” position.

I’ve seen starters fail on Polaris units, but it isn’t super common. If the battery is good and the cam is functioning properly, I would replace the starter.

Fishable ice in the metro. Do share !!!!I figured we would be close by Thanksgiving around here, but kind of thought the Metro are would be a little behind.

It was right up your alley too toast

Biggest advise I can provide when looking for EARLY ice is keep an eye on topography. Not the lake, the land around it. Steep hills around small ponds hold cool air and they freeze faster. A pond half this size down the street had about 1-1.5″. This one had about 3″.

Found just over 2.5″ in the south metro. This spot is always first to freeze. The 2 other spots I checked had maybe 1-1.5″. It’s on! Fishing in 11FOW

I keep forgetting to post in this thread. I’ve been out quite a few times in the last couple weeks with mixed success. The low water makes it super hard to get to my normal backwater spots. So I’ve been spending my time on fields or in south central MN, where I cut my teeth with waterfowl.

1 week to go before late season goose. Loosing steam now that I found some fishable ice in the metro…

If your battery is located in the back of the UTV, plan on spending 💰💰💰 for the wire that is 100% copper and sized right for the length of the run. Don’t be suckered into buying el cheapo audio wire on the internet. That crap is plated aluminum and will melt under high current loads.

Both Polaris and Can-Am UTV’s come pre-wired now. I believe others as well, but cannot confirm.

I’ll be doing 1.5″ Ribeyes. Slow smoked at 150-200 until they reach 120-125. Finish HOT in a cast iron skillet on a turkey fryer with rosemary and garlic infused butter. Sous vide mashed potatoes with sour cream, buttermilk, salt and garlic. Caesar salad with extra croutons and shredded parm.

Ribeye is about the only beef I’ve eaten outside of ground in the last year or two. A good buddy of mine works where he can get whole rib roast relatively cheap and we go through quite a bit. I would MUCH rather have a good low temp smoked and seared ribeye steak over a primerib. Sure, you got lots of flavor but the crust on a ribeye is what makes it so good. Let that fat char baby!

My very first car came from SoCal as a rental return. The washer fluid was pure water and cracked the tank on the first deep freeze. I ended up having to replace it.

If you don’t have a heated garage, I would dump hot water in the tank on a moderately warm day. Then get as much out as possible and top off with regular fluid. Here’s to hoping you don’t need to replace the tank.

I wouldn’t consider it at all. The backwaters are full of random deep channels under the water. There’s nothing worse than dropping a bird and not being able to retrieve it due to depths. Or walking in 2′, just to take a step into 6′ and go under. Been there, done that…managed to recover the shotgun too…

The Mississippi isn’t a river to be messed with. It’s vastly underestimated by most. I would, at the very least, use a kayak or canoe. I would also stay out of the main channel in one. Doesn’t seem that dangerous but 40 degree water temp and 15 degree air temp, mixed with a moderate current isn’t something to gamble with…

Location? Canvasbacks migrate early for divers. I usually don’t see much of them in SE MN past first week of November. Redheads are scattered around the Mississippi flyway but I usually see more in western MN, closer to the central flyway.

Harbor Freight winches are the real deal. A little loud, but I have used mine dozens of times to get some REALLLLLY stuck machines out with no issue. I own 2 currently and have had multiple others on older machines. They just keep working and the price can’t be beat.

I had my SXS buried to the top of the doors in a mud hole that had maybe 2″ of water this summer. The ZXR 5,000 winch pulled it right out without a problem.

I told her I found the same cover on Etrailer for $109 and no shipping. She said “yeah, we don’t compete with our dealers” She asked me for the part number on the Etrailer site and said that is the correct one for you.
I said I was sorry but that I would order from Etrailer as it was significantly cheaper and she chuckled again and said “so would I”

Honestly, I like to hear that. They don’t undercut their distributors. Builds relationships within the supply chain. Consumers may see it as a PITA, but it’s better long term. Having spent my whole career in supply chain management, you don’t see this often and then distributors get fed up and drop the product all together.

Dang. I would make my stance known that I believe it’s unacceptable. If he continued, like you said, I consider that a breach of friendship and would make the call.

However, if this is an involuntary friendship (business partner, neighbor, bartender at your favorite joint, etc.), this can be tricky. How you handle it is a question you can only ask yourself. Weigh out the pros and cons and don’t second guess your decision.

I was in this situation as well, about 10-15 years ago…and regret not saying something…This individual is now someone who responds to poaching calls… doah

Woof. I quite literally just “gave away” an almost new 6.5′ Truxedo cover for my old 11′ F-150….No one wanted it! Eventually took $50 for it to clear space…

I’ve never replaced the velcro, but I did have a cover replaced by Truxedo when the stitching gave out in a corner. I would give them a call and see what they can do for you before you spend money fixing it.

I may know a thing or three about Stump blinds…Yes, it’s a mediocre designed skid…And no, I no longer work for them….

The skids are for sure hollow, but they’re THICK. They are rotomolded MDPE. The bottom of the skid should have close to 1/2″ thick wall.

Biggest thing to watch out for on those skids is the Stainless screws securing the crossbars to the ski via aluminum inserts…The inserts WILL pull out of the ski and then you’re mostly screwed…

Let’s hope you have a newer “knock-off” designed hitch (like in the photo). The original was horrible and you couldn’t take sharp turns without hitting your rear tires…

Back to your first question. Buy 1/2″ UHMW and cut it into 2-3″ strips. Countersink the holes and use tri-lobe plastite screws to secure them to each side of the rib. You will lose tracking ability with the rib being supported, but it will keep the bottom from being destroyed. If you aren’t sure what a tri-lobe plastite screw is, check the window screws out. If they’re black, they’re tri-lobe. They grip soft plastics better than ANY other screw on the market.

Why do we all fling dung at each other? This is silly nonsense and the LARGE majority of you wouldn’t say half of what you type, in person. Guess what then? Don’t say it online…

Maybe, just maybe we can be the 45th state to legalize it.

Another positive note, gun sales should be strong.

Back when I deer hunted a lot, I would drop submarines right off the edge of my stand. Never had an issue. In fact, I’ve had doe’s come right up and sniff it.

I pull mine just barely out of the water, start it to blow out the waterpump and off I go.

I’m not worried about running dry for a second, you should see where I take my outboard…half the time I’m cleaning mud from the pickup anyways…
