    Hey hows it going? What was the length of the trout. I was just wandering. By the way, good catch. A brown trout over 2lbs is a nice fish anywhere. Thanks

    yes I have found two single sheds this year. one of them is a 2 1/2 year old 8pt and the other is just a little 6pt. I have also found two dead bucks this year one nice 8pt and the other is a goofy looking 11pt, both where killed buy hunters. I figure I’ve put in at least 40hours looking this year. So I have had many unsuccessful days where I did not find anything. But some have drop so get out there find them. GOOD LUCK

    I made it out friday and fished a stream south of Rushford. I caught 24 fish total in about 1 1/2hours. I was using a 1/8 ounce black and gold spinner. I did manage to land a beautiful 19 1/4″ male brown at the last hole before I was done. I fished the last part of the day right before sundown. And also I have had many 50 plus fish days in the winter time. It is all in where you fish and how you go about it. Just remember to stay low when coming up on a hole that you know that holds fish or they will see you and NOT bite. GOOD LUCK!

    Hey guys, I’m from Austin so there is not much to fish here. But when I do need a quick fix I head down to the Ceder River. There are dozens of places to go on the river, in town below the dam is a great spot if your in a hurry. All I do is cast a #7 jointed rapala up into the dam and reel back. Most of the time all you will get is snake northerns, once in a while you will get a nice one 30″ plus. Their is also smallmouth bass but in the last couple of years. It seems they are not around as much anymore. If I have more time I get sucker minnows and use them with a bobber. They work alot better than artifical lures around here :

    Yes, French lake. I was up there again on thursday 6/19/03 and boated another nice fish, this one also went 38″. We also caught one northern about 27″. The water up there is starting to turn green. I bet it will be pea soup in another week or so. The musky I caught thursday I got in a figure eight so make sure you do this after EVERY CAST! I was using a gray bucktail.

    I too had a great weekend on the water. I was lucky enough to be able to camp on some private land just south of Rushford, MN. I caught alot of fish this weekend being mostly brookies, I had a couple that went 12″ to 13″. I also had one brown tape 17 3/4″ And also one rainbow that went 15″. All and all GREAT weekend to be out fishing. Saw lots and lots of people out this weekend. Which I think is good for the resorce for one weekend because we all know that 80% of the people I saw will not be back for the next weekend. I used the same lure all weekend which was a green and black spinner with a gold blade.

    MED total=211 for the year

    largest=17 3/4″

    I agree with D.A. the early season is a great way to get out of the house in those months, I fish the early season every year and hope to see more streams open up next year.
    GOOD LUCK!!!!! to everyone this weekend .

    I was out friday and sunday. I caught a lot of fish both days. Most of the fish in the 10″ to 12″ range but also caught a mess of 13″s and 14″s. The lure of choice for me was a black body and silver blade spinner 1/8 once, that is the only lure I used both days. Like D.A. said the water is low and crystal clean. MED

    thanks alot for the information D.A. I’m sure I’ll see you at one of them. Its very important that all trout fisherman attend these meetings. To express all of their views on this subject. thanks again, MED

    hi jake, one of my favorite spots to winter trout fish is camp creek or east beaver creek both are rather small but hold lots of fish. try using a spinner instead of a fly you will get alot more action this way in the winter! MED
