The ice is about 8-10 in on Peltier. It might be a little thicker in spots. There were plenty of wheelers and sleds out this weekend. Also lots of people. I did alright, but the bite was somewhat slow, the traffic probably didn’t help. I saw an oddity on Centerville yesterday. Ice was 5-7 in most places. There was a buick in the middle of the lake where it was open 10 days ago. There is no way it was on more than 7 in ice. Silly.

Peltier did really well for me last night. A few crapies about 10″, which is as well as I’ve done there recently. I plan on heading out for a few hours early in the morning. Fish seemed to be in the shallower water off the point last night. I’m still hoping for Centerville sometime soon. Sleds were on it tonight. I hope they know where they are, because I’m sure the ice is not good in places. I want to try Bald Eagle tomorrow afetrnoon. Any suggestions?

Hit Peltier yesterday afternoon. It looks like the lake has finally closed up completely. We did really well on crappies in about 8-10 FOW away from the fishing pressure. Bite was strong at sunset. Same thing Sunday afternoon. Hope to get out on Centerville later in the week, but before the snow it still looked a little dicey.

Centerville was almost entirely open on Sunday. It looked like there was some skim ice getting started last night, but it’ll be a while. Peltier has been holding, but there is a big pressure ridge in the middle that nobody is crossing. Sunday had about 4-6 inches where portables were. Another couple of warm days would have shut it down. Crappies were good at sunset, but have slowed a bunch for us in the last couple of weeks. I’ve seen some nice pike come through the ice earlier. There have been LOTS of people in a small area, which isn’t ideal. Whoever had the firecrackers a couple of weeks ago didn’t help the experience.
