Another issue we see at school with cell phones is that students will put their phone in the “holder” during class, but leave their hotspot on to connect their iPad to in order to circumvent the firewall and restrictions.
I kinda figured that is the advice I’d receive. For the price of Seastar, I’d just put in cable steering again. I don’t anticipate having the boat for too much longer, and don’t want to put that much coin into an upgrade.
I saw the same classified ad online and almost pulled the trigger.
I have a HDS gen 2, HDS gen 1, and a HDI 5 all networked together. the HDI 5 did not have ethernet or NMEA 2000 so I have it connected with a NMEA0183.
I’ve been slow to get rid of the HDI5 because of the three, it is the only one that will take my MN Lakemaster chip.
Sounds more like your vendor doesn’t know how to use the new system.
I got my wife and I licenses at the local hardware store by myself. I handed over my license from last year, answered all the questions and they gave me my license and a voucher that my wife can take to any license terminal and get her’s printed at her leisure.
We didn’t have to go together, and I didn’t have to provide any SS# etc…
I try to get as many of my started plants as possible from the local HS horticulture club. There usually isn’t a ton of variety, but the plants always come in great shape, they are really cheap, and it supports a good program!
I use a polamar to the swivel, double surgeon loop on the swivel end of the leader, and snell the hook. I do keep a couple dozen hooks pre snelled in the box so I don’t have to tie at night.
This has caught sturgeon to 67″ and flats to 43″ and never had a snell slip.
