Only have bought stuff online and at the Twin Cites Ice Show, but they always seem to have some of the best prices (along with reeds) along with great selection and consistently have sales on products that people want (Houses, Ice Apparel, Electronics etc.)

Shipping has always been fast to the Metro and I would never hesitate to use them in the future.

I maybe I said that wrong. I bought $500 worth when it was at $28,000 and sold it all when it hit $47,000 the other day. So very small scale but nice gain. It got up to 48,500 or so before it started falling.

I also only dabble in bitcoin a little, I just sold/converted into cash in my crypto wallet (only $500 Original Investment) when it hit $47,000 and hoping it will go back down around or under $30,000 so I can buy back in again. I am pretty, pretty sure me selling ALL my bitcoin has it trending down now like Elon did to run up the price (sarcasm).

Very True Andy, that is the best way! Otherwise, save yourself potential headaches.. Go with Paypal Goods and Services.

The one and only way someone pay… PayPal goods and services. Venmo is free but offers no real protection to the seller. PayPal friends and family is free but again, offers no real protection to the seller.

*there is a small”ish” fee associated with PayPal goods and services for the seller, but I have always built that into the price or take the 3 or so percent hit for the safety of the transaction.

They are definitely being slowed due to covid, I emailed about a LX3 TCI which stopped working correctly. Took 3 emails and 7-8 days to get a response.. which basically was you will need to fill out a repair form and send it in.. I did send it in and it was fixed literally about 1 hour after I got off the phone with a guy. They had some policy where even if local, you would have to ship in the product and they would have to ship it back, no local pickups due to covid. Not sure what changed but I was all of a sudden able to swing by and pick it up on my way up north last weekend.

I will say, I also have a LX6 Lithium Shuttle and LX7 Lithium Shuttle and have had not problems with them at all but probably do not fish as much as most people on this site.

I do find it some what interesting there is no one on this site from Marcum being they were such a big Sponsor of IDO before they jumped to HB. I see John from TUCR, Some guys from Clam etc.. on here interacting, answering questions about product etc..

I had to bring in a LX3 TCI for repair, I emailed them on January 1st and they didn’t get back to me until probably January 10th (after 3-4 emails). I sent the unit in and it was done in about 45 minutes (new motor). I am guessing they just have a lot of things going on right now being in the middle of the season and everyone wanting there stuff done now. I do know they have limited staff at the office… which I find somewhat unacceptable in the middle of the one season they really have.

Well our 2 night trip was not exactly what we were hoping it would be. One 24” walleye, One 29” Pike, 10 eelpouts (5 each night). A bunch of perch during the day all very small. Wasn’t in love with our location and depth (15 feet) but it is what it is when booking a sleeper house through someone. Overall had a good time and the overall house and setup was awesome.

    Thanks Everyone! Appreciate it..

I have to temper my 14 year old nephews expectations down a bit as he has been trained on Lake of the Woods so he is used to 50-70 Fish days. I told him I would be happy if we catch 6-10 walleyes in the 2 days we are there and hopefully a few other species as well (he likes pike fishing as well). We will probably do a little searching during the day on four wheeler and foot if the weather is nice.

I am a self admitted Marcum Fanboy but literally submitted a LX-3 TCI issue email now 8 days ago. I have followed up twice since than, I have been very kind in my emails but have said I need to get the issue fixed for a leech lake trip in now 12 days. I have an LX6 lithium shuttle and LX7 lithium shuttle but would like this as well as a backup or if we have a few more people come on the trip. Not excited about the absolutely no follow up in now 8 days and 3 emails, that is for sure. Maybe I have to drop the nice, kind guy act. Not really my style but this doesn’t seem to be working.

I was just there last week out of Sportsmans for a 2 day trip. Jigging: Nothing was really that much better then another except glow seemed to help with a minnow head or tail. We used the usual gold and pinks but went to some dark reds as well as yellow/green as well. Our Dead Sticks were typically tipped with a Gem N’ Eye or Frosty type but our best deadstick lure was a VMC Teardrop UV Glow Green Fire Color. We did not use the plain hook method on this trip but will be on Leech in a couple weeks. We were in about 27 feet of water about 3.5 – 4 miles north of the island close to the Canadian Border.

I was fishing LOW in -35 a few years back, one of my Frabill windows cracked in the cold, I called them up and they sent me a new set of windows for every window in the house. Free of charge and free shipping. Granted it was a newer model house. I would call them up.

Where did you buy the Navionics chip from? Hopefully not someone online.

Like Bluegill said, just go there office. They have people there (maybe not today/tomorrow). I’ve stopped in there a few times to pick up a couple things.

Perch Sweetheart is your Rod! Don’t let the name fool you, It will handle bigger fish just fine as well.

I agree that its probably more like 35-40% off, but if you have any Mint TUCR, Thorne Bros, or JT Rods I will gladly take them off your hands for 50% off retail price!

That’s why I’m wondering, I think and could be wrong that has an open water transducer and would have to buy at the very least an ice ducer of possibly a totally different unit (93sv plus)?

Very much appreciate and respect your opinion! I do see it is based off the LX-7 platform which is my favorite unit I have ever fished. I would love some on ice updates as I probably won’t get out until after Xmas!

I only use Marcum Electronics and will tell you to stay far away from both RT-9 and RT-9 2.0! I run both a Lithium Shuttle LX-7 & LX-6 but am still waiting to hear some reviews on the MX7GPS before I take that plunge after the RT9 debacle.

There are no regrets! My then 13 year old nephew caught a 28” Wally last year in a day house. When he gets a little older we will skip the day houses and go out In our portables or castle. This is more of a fun trip which leads me to believe that we are doing it right. Skip the overnight house and do a couple days of fishing. *My mom doesn’t fish a lot. I’m still working on her (only fishes dead stick with bobber) slowly reeling the line until she feels tension and setting the hook. We still end up with a good amount of phantom hook sets, but she gets so excited on every bite! Haha

For me, I take a trip or two up to LOW each winter, simply for the better opportunity at a trophy fish. Haven’t gotten one yet, but last year we got a 27.5” and a 28.5” topside.

I have a buddy that is a technical designer for Striker, he told me to wait till next year if I was getting a new suit as they are working on a couple new things. Could always be a overload of inventory with Eskimo and Strikemaster having popular suits this year biting into Strikers share of the industry and trying to get them out of there stock area

Well even at 10% off you basically taking off tax so it is still $115. Then I have to drive an hour to pick up to avoid shipping…

So I guess 80-90 where I can choose the rod I want and no tax makes sense to me. To each their own.
