Without bursting anybody’s bubble, 22 1/4 isn’t anywhere close to 9 pounds. It’s big. Bigger than most will ever catch. We’ve weighed in BIG fish out there. Up to 23 1/2 inches long. The most weight we have is 7.38 on that giant. The was pre spawn and full of eggs. I also know of a fish that was 24″ and just over 7 and a half pounds. I just don’t want any rumors floating around about a possible state record.

I hunt between spring valley and elmwood right in 59B. Lots o deer. I’ll be drinking and watching football at the sandbar too in elmwood if anyone wants to grab a beer. Got the whole season off of work. Awesome.

I almost forgot. For battery life, I use my battery from my FL-8 ice fishing unit. Just run the cord from the camera to the battery on the ground below. The camera has a plug in for them. I set 3 cameras out in early october and they are all still running strong

I use Game Vu cameras. They are unbeliveable. Super clean and clear pictures and the best part….no flash at night. They use infared technology instead of a flash. They will take 60 pictures before they start to recycle and delete each other. You can also lock a picture onto the camera so you can save shots of your bucks in the area. I don’t remember a web site, but I know Capra’s Sporting goods in Blaine has them. Maybe you could try a yahoo search for them.

Good question. It’s been almost two weeks since I’ve been out there. Let us know how you did. I could use the help.
How close are we to a “fall bite?” It’s going to drop below 50 in the morning pretty quick.

Smallmouth. I’m going again sunday morning. After alot of years away from the river, I’m back and I can’t get enough. Why would I go anywhere else?

I talked to a buddy of mine who fished north of stillwater the last couple days. Lots of fish, just not very big. I think I’ll head up and investigate. I’ll post when I get done.

I took the advice of everyone on the site including other posts and I would have to say that it is paying off. The bite isn’t amazing, but then again, I’m still trying to figure out what I am doing. I caught a handfull of fish in the kinney narrows on tubes and floating raps. I also caught a dozen fish on assorted riprap from I94 and the Hudson dike. These are the only areas I’ve tried so far. Any of you walleye guys pulling smallmouth from the depths?
