I went to Gordon’s food service 4 years ago and bought a stainless cone strainer frame and a carton of fibrous filters. The system works great and I’m still on my first box of filters. Warm oil filters faster.

As long as HDS is being discussed, I have an HDS 5. I am not real up to date on all functions. I am planning a trip to Ontario/Manitoba in September. What will my unit show me in Canada? Any difference in what I see now in Michigan? I have the Lake insight form.

Your suggestion is one place we do plan to stop. Have seen too many tv videos of the cats not to try it!

I have a Lund Angler SS 17ft. I did the trolling plate thing and had problems flipping it up and down (memory problem) and ended up shearing pins too many times. I found this site on Walleye Central 2 years ago, and went to this guy’s drift socks. http://www.amishoutfitters.com/. I purchased two 18′ socks, and put one on each side of the boat. They slow me down to .5 mph gps, with a 115 Johnson 4 stroke. As far as I am concerned, this system is the best. These socks are the best available, they hold up! At the time, the 2 socks cost about the same as a trolling plate. Good Luck.
